Temporary Bans (09 March 2008)

The following users have all been temporarily banned:

DBHighDefinition
Snail
The Time Traveller
Chuquita
Pain
bkev
SSj Kaboom
Innagadadavida
JulieYBM
Onikage725
The Tori-bot

Each user listed contributed to a four page spread of nonsense posts going back and forth (not to mention in a thread that has otherwise been filled with interesting information, conversations, and news). This is absolutely unacceptable on this forum, and is something all users agreed would not be a part of their posting activity before they registered on this forum.

We all, as a community, should expect so much more of ourselves. Many of those temporarily banned are extremely active participants of this community, and it's understandable that they probably just got carried away in the "fun" of the moment. However, as noted, this type of nonsense just is not a part of this forum, and will not be tolerated.

It is a temporary ban (a completely equal one across all participants... well, as equal as it can be, since I wasn't keeping a list until after I realized how huge of an extent it was, and I probably missed one or two people), and everyone will be back to normal very soon. I'm sure you all understand, and I know we all just want this to be a fun place to genuinely discuss things. Please keep that in mind before posting. Thanks so much!

Out of curiosity, what was the thread in question, and what did the topic derailment consist of? Quite a few of the members on that list are usually pretty well presented--especially bkev, as I've noticed--so it's a bit of a surprise to see all of those names involved.

They were all making puns in the Dragonball Kai thread. Too bad I didn't screencap it, it really showed off our community's adeptness with words.

Puns. Oh god, pages and pages straight of horrible puns. I'm pretty sure that's what it was, on the DBKai thread because they're all gone now.

I wonder too. Maybe like 1 or 2 days tops. And I am surprised kaboom and snail got temporarily ban.

Ah, I guess this explains why there hasn't been much activity tonight, that's basically a list of the majority of the main users on the forum.

Believe me, it was. It probably would of made an awesome stand alone thread.

Am I allowed to give examples? It was like, you would make a sentence to reply to the user before you, except it had to have a pun of a DB character in it. Like:

"Ah, I see what you're Saiyan"

Then someone would reply:

"Let's not get in a Piccolo-ver this."

Then:

"No need to Pilaf your skin, it's just a bit of fun"

Then:

"Man, your right. I think I need to Goku the doctor"

etc, etc. For 4 pages non stop, ranging from various subjects of the DB world.

Well they probably would have gotten away with it in a stand alone thread, as long is was called "Kaio-sama's name puns" or something.
