Hi, I'm Zephyr. I enjoy viewing my favorite art against the background of its real world context. In the case of Dragon Ball, that context often involves intersections between history, language, religion, and philosophy. Kanzenshuu, Dragon Ball Dissection, The Dao of Dragon Ball, and the Wuxia Thread are all partially to blame for kickstarting my fascination with that context.

So far I've only really made these two pages, fueled by this fascination. Both are far from complete, and I invite anybody with additional knowledge and information to refine and build upon what I've started:

Real World Timeline

  • still need to link every named chapter and episode of Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball to their corresponding pages
  • over time plan to properly acquire actual physical primary and secondary material pertaining to Part I, to minimize reliance on second hand sources like Wikipedia, blog posts, and YouTube videos
  • could probably use more behind-the-scenes production info, especially in Parts IV, V, and VI
  • Dragon Ball Heroes and related content is still largely absent

Japanese & Chinese Glossary of Dragon Ball, Mystical, and Martial Terminology

  • some names and terms may not yet cohere to our style guidelines
  • still missing a ton of names and terms
  • could probably use some TLC from someone way more knowledgeable about Japanese
