The episode first aired in Japan on [[Fuji TV]] on '''13 May 1981'''. The episode was written by [[Tomoko Konparu]] and directed by [[Hiroyuki Ikeda]].

This episode has two distinct parts: Part A adapts ''[[Dr. Slump]]'' manga [[Dr. Slump Chapter 6|Chapter 6: "Friends with Mr. Bear!"]] and Part B adapts [[Dr. Slump Chapter 8|Chapter 8: "The Tiny-Huge Gun!"]]. Part B has its own prologue and title card.

==Synopsis==
Arale secretly rescues a bear that had been locked in a cage. The bear is relieved when Arale returns him to the mountain, but then he is shot by a hunter. In the second half, [[Senbei]] invents a ray gun that can freely change the size of objects.
