The first two pages mention how this is based on a Kochi-Kame chapter from volume 69, called "A New Journey", which likewise mixed Kochi-Kame with DB, though from what I can gather via Wikipedia this did not have any involvement from Toriyama. That chapter featured Zarbon in addition to Freeza and Appule. Page 219 refers to it as a "legendary fake final chapter", though I haven't found any details on that.
The original version references the Japanese word game
Shiritori. I decided to switch this out with "Go Fish" to try and adapt the joke into English, but Desire can use Shiritori if he wants. Why "Go Fish"? I don't know.
I've only given transliterations for sound effects that are inside word balloons, and not ones in the background. Just because.

While our ages aren’t that far apart, you’ve been at this job a lot longer than I have, and it really means a lot to me to be able to do this collaboration manga with you. After all, I’m appearing on the same pages as Ryo-san, who was famous before I became a manga artist. It’s a huge honor, but I’d rather not do this again (laughs).
An Explanation of “Dragon Ball”
[Freeza caption] Serialized in Weekly Jump from 1984~1995. The story of Goku’s adventures as he travels in search of the Dragon Balls, which grant any wish when all 7 are gathered. This collaboration manga is based on the story in “Kochi-Kame” volume 69 where Ryo-san is thrown into the world of “Dragon Ball”.
