Akira Toryama`s SSJ4 designs from the GT Dragon Box
Can anyone find a good quality scan of that?
Re: Akira Toryama`s SSJ4 designs from the GT Dragon Box
He didn't design SSJ4.

Well, in Dragon Box GT, there is a picture that toryama drew. I think i can find a low quality picture of it.hleV wrote:He didn't design SSJ4.
EDIT: Here:
Re: Akira Toryama`s SSJ4 designs from the GT Dragon Box
Wasn't there a comment that came with this pic in which Toriyama mentions that the SSj 4 isn't his idea and he just wanted to try and draw the design.
Anyway I've only seen small version of this pic.

I don't think Toriyama drew that.

So it's misleading to refer to that sketch as Toriyama's "SSj4 design" as if it were analogous to the design sketches he drew for some of the movie villains, since he had no role in designing this character. It's just a sketch of SSj4 Goku that Toriyama drew years after GT ended. For GT, all I did was just come up with the title, design the initial main cast and some of the machines, and also do a few images. However, I was able to rest easy handing things over to the excellent staff, who had continued on DragonBall for all this time. In particular, the animator Nakatsuru-kun is amazingly skilled, and mastered the peculiarities of my pictures in no time at all, to the point where there were even times when I couldn't tell whether I had drawn a certain character design, or if he had. For instance, one of Nakatsuru-kun's designs is "Super Saiyan 4", which appears in GT, and the picture above is a portrait that I drew looking off it. Did I draw it well?

Well, I beg to differ; I know that Toriyama did actually draw it.hleV wrote:I don't think Toriyama drew that.

When I see that SSJ4 image, and the illustrations for GT that Toriyama drew in one of the guidebooks(Forevoer or the one with SSJ Goku on the cover - it's a recent book), I feel that it's such a damn tease of what a GT manga could of been.

Anyone notice how Son has that characteristic smirk of his? As opposed to his "RAH GT is serious business" face he has mosta the time in the series?
Yamcha almost certainly did not cheat on Bulma:
He was afraid of Women, Bulma was the flirty one.
Yamcha wanted to get married (it was his gonna be his wish)
He suggested they settle down in the Trunks saga.
Alternate future Trunks is not a reliable source.
Toriyama wanted new SSJ Kids and not make new characters.

I've seen him with that same smirk plenty times in the series, so it's hardly worth noticing.

Re: Akira Toryama`s SSJ4 designs from the GT Dragon Box
Toriyama first drew those images for Weekly Jump around the time GT was starting. After appearing there, they were reprinted in Daizenshuu 7 and the GT Perfect Files Vol.1 (more about them here). Maybe they were reprinted again for Golden Warrior, and that's the book you're thinking of? I don't have that book, so I don't know if they're in there or not, but that's the only book I can think of that matches your description. DB Forever is a manga-only guide and so has no information on GT.NeoKING wrote:When I see that SSJ4 image, and the illustrations for GT that Toriyama drew in one of the guidebooks(Forevoer or the one with SSJ Goku on the cover - it's a recent book)

I love that picture... and SSJ4 is probably my favourite non-Toriyama design.

I will not deny that Akira Toriyama drew that, but... I don't think it's very... good. I mean the head seems a little big, the chest seems really small, and the abdomen area just looks lopsided. Looks like fan-art. But hey, who am I to criticize an artist that drew what just may be my favorite series of all time?

Re: Akira Toryama`s SSJ4 designs from the GT Dragon Box
Well, it kind of is fan-art in a way, since it's Toriyama drawing one of Nakatsuru's character designs to show how highly he rates Nakatsuru. It's also obviously a fairly rough sketch, not a finished piece. Not too odd that it has its flaws.TheGreatness25 wrote:Looks like fan-art.
