I thought the old Kaioshin said he simply didn't need to go SSj anymore, not that he couldn't.

No, the Kaiôshin actually told him to transform into a Super Saiyan. When he powered up, he didn't transform, he just reached his full power. That was "Ultimate Gohan"

Not if it wouldn't do him any good. If he already had his dormant power drawn out, the becoming a Super Saiyan wouldn't change anything.

OK, so my translating juice is full again. Or something. Lot of speech bubbles where people are just going "...!!" in this one. What the hell is that, anyway? Does "...!!" sound any different than "..."? Well, anyway, here's the translation:

The one thing that I found unfair is this: Vegeta kills a semi-major villain or weak villain in each saga (Nappa, Cui, Dodoria, Zarbon, Recoome, Guldo, Jheese, #19, Butta, Saibaimen Pui Pui). But whenever he's got the upper hand on a major villain,(Cell, Yī Xīng Lóng(well, that was SSJ4 Gogeta's fault)) things go wrong. He usually blows it, due to arrogance. But his actions always seem to result in good after effects, without anyone knowing.

And I saw the new pages on Toyble's site as well. Vegeta's attack didn't look strong enough to kill Xicor. And is Kibitoshin trying to seal Xicor away in the Z Sword?

I'm kind of confused as to which sword that is. Kaoshin got it from Tapion, but Tapion's sword should be with Trunks, right? If it's the Z Sword, shouldn't it be broken in two?

This is what it says on pages 81 and 82 about it.

Looks like he's gonna seal Xicor away for a long time.

Not trying to defend GT or anything, but SSJ4 needs a high amount of Blutz waves, (at least, the 1st time for Goku, but Vegeta seemingly needs that for every transformation, so it seems that Goku somehow internalized the energy) so, maybe, that external energy source would allow the Saiyan to surpass their limits.

It'd explain why Kaioshin didn't bother to make the same ritual for Goku in GT.
