Anyone here willing to consider drawing a fan manga written by me?

It's an interesting story so far! You might have better luck searching on DeviantArt. It's difficult to find artists willing to draw for free especially for an ongoing fan comic since most charge a commission for a single drawing.

Re: Should fans write for official products ?

I really have no idea, but do people take Dragon Ball Super seriously as an anime in Japan? That is, is it considered "good" like the original, or is it seen as a novelty? I was always curious how DBS holds up in Japan compared to other shonen series inspired by DB and Toriyama. I figured this woul...

Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread

The point is that you can't really blame a new work for specifically the problems its predecessor started. For not fixing them? Sure. But most of the time it's coupled with pretending those problems didn't exist with the originals, when if you ask me, a lot of them were just as bad or even worse in...

Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread

You need to remember, every problem that exists in Z only matters when something other than Z does it. Is that something Omari said? I joined the forum in 2013 and have seen threads going back to the mid-2000's on here and other sites with fans discussing issues they had with DB including character...

Re: Should fans write for official products ?

I don't understand the question One big issue with fanfic is they don't get the author's voice. It's difficult for even professional writers, hence the need for a showrunner. I think it would benefit DBS if they made a shorter version that stuck closer to Toriyama's outlines with fewer writers to g...

Re: Should fans write for official products ?

DB was always a commercial product. Duh. It just had louder creative voices shine through the bullshit commercial aspects. And what are the "commercial aspects"? I think they mean mainly focusing on what would have the most mass appeal and less willing to take risks. Of course, Toriyama wanted to m...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

The franchise's revenue was pretty much dead from 1997-2002, as there were no new products being put out in the market. That changed starting in 2002. Do we have evidence of this? I ask because their IR library only goes back to 2006 so I curious how people came to this conclusion. You said things ...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

From what I understand about anime production, they never have a set number of episodes in mind, they figure it out as they go along. For example, if by the 30th episode the show is a big success, it's likely to go on for a long time. If it isn't, then the companies involved start looking at ways t...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

The difference is that star wars (from what I've heard and read) was all over the place, there was no consistency in what they were doing. With modern DB, they've clearly got a winning formula on their hands with the following: Goku and Vegeta as the main characters. Keeping everyone else involved ...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

If it was successful it would've lasted more than 64 episodes. So no evidence other than the assumption that they wanted it to go on for as long as possible? Do we have a quote or interview or some financial report indicating GT ended earlier than intended? I think the difference is that back then ...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

GT was anything but successful. A producer said the reason it's not back is because they don't want to make the same mistake they did with 1.0 by rushing its production. The difference is that Toriyama had been drawing manga for 15 years straight at that point (5 on dr.slump and 10 on db). Personal...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

There's too much $$$ involved for the franchise to stop, regardless of who has to walk away from it. Apart from that, Toriyama has said multiple times that he'd like to see it go on beyond his writing, and with Toyotro getting more involved with the story, it's safe to say he'll be getting more con...

Re: Your ideal Dragon Ball sequel.

It feels like we get this thread every few weeks :P. We get a lot of various opinions each time with some fans wanting the series to end, a sequel with a new generation, or a sequel with an entirely new cast. I'm fine with the manga's original ending. I still believe that Toriyama intends DBS to end...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I'm hoping that sometime in the manga they show the damage that has been caused to Universe 7 as a whole from Moro. Moro wasn't lying when he said he ate countless planets, I can't be the only one who wants to see just how bad Moro fucked things up with his planet feast. Like make sure none of the ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I kinda hope after Moro is defeated the damage he's done is so great that they can't reverse it with the regular dragon balls. Simply to show not everything can be wished back. I mean, Moro's been running around, eating planets like there's no tomorrow, with no leash to inhibit him. I was wondering ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

After months of speculation, all we know for sure is that they're working on the next movie and what Ajay shared. Unless there's an announcement this year, we'll have to wait until the manga finishes the Moro saga and see what comes next or see what anime takes Digimon's timeslot once it ends.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

AnimeAjay posted this in a Fan Works thread. I thought it was relevant to post here because it's the last update we've had since Toei said they were working on a new movie sometime last year. Watched it all. Was like going through some crazy Vietnam flashbacks. What an ordeal. I left a comment, but ...

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

Regarding the plot, how long has this Bra fight been going? it's already making the Namek fight look like Beerus vs Present Zamasu. Would it be fair to say they don't know where to go with it? I mean, how much longer can it get? I feel I've seen the same dynamic too many times, it bored me way too ...

Re: The Disappearance of Dragon Ball Super : What Went Wrong in 2019? Full Story +DB in 2020 and Beyond!

Well, my main problem with this is that the damage was done. The idea of rewatching Super really pains me when you have the two films and manga as alternatives, the movies a lot better visually and with writing and Champa Tournament is also better in manga in my opinion, as the anime setting looks ...

Re: The Disappearance of Dragon Ball Super : What Went Wrong in 2019? Full Story +DB in 2020 and Beyond!

The last word I have heard on anything DB-related was from a DBS writer who said: "When we started Dragon Ball Super, Toei Animation thought it could be made easily. Because they have made it before and have succeeded. But that was a mistake. They did not make enough preparations, which caused trou...
