Just my 2 cents about the VIZ edition of the DB/Z manga.

I have seen much better fan translation(s) of the DB/Z manga than anything that VIZ has done. Take a look at the DB Minus manga. In the VIZ version Gine says "infiltration baby". In a fan-translated version she says something completely ...

...Essentially, what I'm wondering (assuming that is the title didn't give me away :P) is what would happen if the Funimation English Dub of Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Kai was in fact the bona fide original with plenty of emphasis then on Z in particular?

Dragon Ball New Age is one big project of Malik and the artworks are part of this project so him crediting the original author at the beginning of this project counts for the whole project. It's not his character, but giving credit to Toriyama, Shueisha or Toei is another problem entirely unto itself. It's still his drawing and you are altering it, I'm assuming without permission. Though Malik probably doesn't really care, it's the principle that matters.

Not my point. There's nothing in that picture that explains to the viewer "this is a copyrighted character invented by Akira Toriyama".

Her hair is practically no different from the original. It's just really lazy, but that's not surprising given the nature of the image.

That's another topic. How many people on DeviantArt would be viewing that topic? How many people might share that image, with Malik's signature now removed? The ...

Sorry, but how is that "done right"? It doesn't help that it's just a colored version of someone else's artwork (with their signature removed and no other credit given in return either).

Gine's hair is exactly the way it's supposed to be.
