I find myself being incredibly fond of the more rounded art style of Dragonball and Dr. Slump. I wouldn't say his new stuff is bad, but the older stuff definitely had a charm to it that seems to be lacking from modern work.
Also, I know this might not be Toriyama's fault, and more likely the fault ...

Re: What phrases/opinions/things bring out your irate fanboy
I'm not sure if it's just me being used to the dub, but it feels more natural for me to say "Saiyan" with an "ay" sound rather than an "ai/eye" sound. However, maybe that's just due to me saying "Saiyan" and not "Saiya-jin". It feels completely natural to say "S-eye-a-jin" but not "S-eye-an ...

Re: Why do all of Goku's former enemies become his friends?
Not to derail the thread or anything, but is it considered weird at all that Goku would end up befriending Vegeta after his atrocities, yet be completely unforgiving of Raditz?
Is it a case of Raditz actually being evil, while Vegeta was just a victim of circumstance? Does it have something to do ...

Re: Bulma's offer to Oolong in super episode 8
I honestly don't think she was actually going to follow through on the offer if Oolong won. Things were tense and she was trying to motivate him.
I'm sure if he won and came to claim his prize, Bulma would tell him something like "You're still alive, that's payment enough." or alternatively "Go ask ...

Re: Why do all of Goku's former enemies become his friends?
Given that Goku's usually responsible for defeating his enemies, it makes sense that they'd buddy up to him after being defeated. Goku doesn't have any qualms about killing what he percieves to be an actual enemy, and by the time most of his enemies have been defeated they're aware of that fact.

Re: Is Shen Long endless?
I only noticed Shen Long's endless body the other day. Given that Shen Long isn't immortal and can be recreated and destroyed, maybe the term "Eternal Dragon" refers to his body size, not his lifespan. His body doesn't end, it's eternal.

Re: Anyone able to recognise these symbols?
Very much appreciated for the help, guys. I've gone ahead and ripped the symbols from each game, for translation purposes, but also for reference purposes. I'm not sure if I've ever seen translations for the symbols in guides about the games. The games share a lot of art assets, so a lot of them are ...

Anyone able to recognise these symbols?
I've been playing the Famicom DBZ RPGs lately, and I'm in the middle of ripping sprites, but as I was going through, I took notice of the Card Kanji symbols. The first DBZ RPG I played was Legend of the Super Saiyan on Super Famicom, and in it there were only a few card kanji, but when exploring the ...
