Re: The Other Multiverse.
The way you see it is definitely one I have never seen anyone or anything using it. That is not to say you can't think that way, but that's not quite how Multiverse works.
Don’t see why it’s that crazy especially with the anime. The original anime as presented starting in 1986 with Dragon Ball ...

Re: The Other Multiverse.
As a follow up I do realize that officially the Super material (plus BoG/RoF) was supposed to take place between the end of the Majin Buu arc and the "End of Z" tournament but with everything they've now done it just seems hard to buy that eventually it's heading to that. I think they'd be better ...

Re: The Other Multiverse.
There are basically two universes the way I see it:
the original former universe being the original manga or alternatively the one presented in the original broadcast anime run in the 80s/90s with DB/DBZ/DBGT. It’s tough to reconcile the last chapters of the manga and the last episodes of the Z ...

Re: Is anyone still holding out for a new HD remaster from TOEI?
Would love to see it but don’t think it will happen. They did Kai which created a new remastered series in line with the current series canon established with BoG/RoF and Super and I think that’s the only thing we’ll ever see. At this point the original DB/Z/GT run is probably to them a legacy ...

Re: 2021 Dragon Ball Wishlist/Predictions
My wish would be an HD remastered version of the legacy anime (From DB to GT) for blu ray in Japan that would include a sound remaster to finally give us a greater than mono original Japanese track. Given the effort made to produce Kai as a new remastered definitive and canon version of the anime ...

Re: The most perfect continuation of Dragon Ball manga (DB&DBZ anime)
For me its different for the manga and for the DB/DBZ anime. I will add that I have not played DBO so I can only talk about Super and GT. Super is best for the manga and Kai, and GT is best for the DB/DBZ anime in its original form. The original anime has much content that is generally not ...

Re: Who Should Return Or Be Canonized Next?
None unless there is a compelling reason to bring back an existing character that enhances the current product. I’d rather just see them focus on telling the story they want to tell and not worrying about bringing in fan favorite characters from other DB related properties that aren’t canon to the ...

Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
I'm not a fan of this movie concept. I always thought Broly was kind of an overrated character and was overused. Hopefully those that like the character will enjoy.

Re: Your personal canon for Dragon Ball
My personal way of looking at it:
Manga Canon:
Alternative 1:
Manga with Toriyama written movies.
DB Manga > BoG movie > RoF movie
Alternative 2:
Pure manga.
DB Manga > DB Super Manga
Pick either of the above for the "true Toriyama canon." Tough to say as he was involved from both.
Anime Canons ...

Re: Toei shouldn't have problem to retcon GT
And sometimes quality doesn't always link up with continuity. I would say that Super is a better series than GT (though I do like some things in GT.) But at the same time I have to be honest and say that in my opinion it actually contradicts the manga and DB/DBZ anime more than GT did and I think at ...

Re: Toei shouldn't have problem to retcon GT
And on the Star Wars example I think Disney/Lucasfilm did themselves a disservice with the whole canon vs. Legends thing by requiring all new licensed Star Wars content to fit with their new cinematic timeline. While I don't think they should have been bound to follow the EU with their new films, I ...

Re: Toei shouldn't have problem to retcon GT
Toei may overwrite the end of DBZ and GT in Super's story, they may not. Who the heck knows? Whether they do or not it doesn't eliminate the traditional end of Z or GT from the franchise. Like any franchise it contains different products that stand on their own. Some of which fit together story line ...

Re: Super as continuation of Z/Kai or Manga/Toriyama movies?
Really you're right, what I said before is also over complicating it just as much as trying to come up with a canon. I doubt Toriyama or Toei spend too much time thinking about what is canon and what isn't it is fiction! Really it all comes down to what we like and what we don't like. The Trunks ...

Re: Super as continuation of Z/Kai or Manga/Toriyama movies?
I don't mean even timelines in the same universe per say, I think of it as more of a reboot as other franchises have been. There can be different adaptations of the same original work (the manga.) There are many franchises that have had reboots and different versions of the same story. Kai is a ...

Re: Super as continuation of Z/Kai or Manga/Toriyama movies?
I think separate timelines as I've seen a few other people suggest for the anime is a good way to make everything fit in rather than trying to smash everything into one continuity or try to throw out elements such as DBGT. If you consider Kai as a reboot of the anime, a new timeline, and Super as a ...

Re: Will GT Really Become "Lost" This Time?
Trying to fit the Dragon Ball material into one continuity is clearly impossible. I think of it as three separate timelines/alternate universes.
You have the original manga continuity which consists of the manga itself and is the original story on which the anime adaptation are based. The only ...
