Re: Could SSJ3 Goku survive Vegeta's Final Explosion?

The two most memorable instances of a kamikaze manoeuvre besides this were Chaozu's failed attempt against Nappa and Semi-Perfect Cell's intention of destroying Earth. Did Goku eat a sensu before he teleported Cell away and subsequently died to Cell's explosion attack? I think Gohan instructed Trunk...

I apologise then. I've been attending this forum for almost four years now and there's still segments of it that I've either skimmed over without looking into or never looked at in much depth.

How would the characters have turned out if the training schools they were in were reversed?

By schools I'm referring to the Turtle and Crane disciplines from back in the classic Dragon Ball era. I'm wondering what kind of a difference the realignments could have had to the overarching plot if it had been Goku, Krillin, and Yamcha who were trained by the Crane Hermit while Tenshinhan and Ch...

Re: Why wasn't the central pillar in the ToP destroyed?

Less inclination by the fighters to coalesce so close to the middle of the arena? I guess you could also argue that it was made of a stronger material. Although why the whole arena wouldn't have been materially built in a similar fashion is unknown to me.

Re: Uub's role after EOZ

It's not just the successional generations concept that's been put to the side, ever since the late Buu arc the series has been consolidated around the tales of Goku and Vegeta as they predictably climb up the deity ladder taking on one menace at a time. While Goku has almost always been the main pr...

Re: A state higher than Ultra Instinct?

I didn't like the fact that they turned Ultra Instinct into a pseudo-transformation for Goku in the first place. This concept only serves to continually stack onto the already oversized pile of hair colour forms that exist. No one else besides Goku and maybe Vegeta is going to use them. I say let th...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" CONTINUATION - (Non) Announcement & Discussion Thread

I personally find it worrisome that the success of Broly might galvanise Toei into pursuing more rehashes instead of dedicating themselves to more original villains. Sure, there's a great number of DB fans who enjoy Broly, but it's not a universal opinion.

Re: When Will We Ever Get Out of the Boo Fight - End of Z Rift?!

Frankly, I find most of those aforementioned story concepts to be more engaging as a viewer than the ever escalating duopoly that's systematised Dragon Ball outside of the guest appearances and tournament arc concessions. Don't forget that the relationship between #18 and Krillin could be elaborated...

Re: When Will We Ever Get Out of the Boo Fight - End of Z Rift?!

It's funny because there's another sizeable window in the 7 year gap between Cell and Buu that they could use but refuse not to. I wonder why? Granted, the depths of power were more firmly established between points A and B then, plus there wouldn't be Goten and Trunks to use, but they still could h...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Dragon Ball is far from being the premiere example of thoroughly nuanced characterisation for its villains. Having said that, a lot of people considered Zamasu to be groundbreaking. The character still fell into some of the notorious trappings of villainy in DB but the attempt was a step in the righ...

Re: How Would You Make Simple Fixes For Issues In DB?

I'm part of the camp who feels that the series could stand to have less transformations. I don't mean Puar's or Launch's. Some fans may not even know that transformations existed back in DB classic. Obviously this is referring to the exclusivist ones introduced back in the Freeza arc and have been p...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Yeah, I think Babidi's magic was presentationally more original than Moro's is. It dealt with the psychological and emotional aspects of the fighters through the wizard's poking & prodding into the recesses of their heart and mind to exploit any negative thought they may have. Babidi also had that s...

Re: Uub's role after EOZ

This opinion might seem objectionable to some but I like Multiverse's portrayal of Uub. In Salagir's comic, Uub is portrayed as a nervous but eager young martial arts disciple who's looking to prove to his mentor and others that he's a capable fighter who can hold his own weight in the ring, even ag...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Nice to see Toyotaro going to the trouble of clarifying some things for the reader. How Porunga was still able to grant the third wish and the Saiyans' seeming ability to continue surviving in what looked like Space were question marks to some of the fans, I think. I'm guessing they were positioned ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I like Super, but lacks of soul...only Goku and Vegeta (I love them but man, at this point they're annoying). I agree that we've gotten a lot of them, but Vegeta was in desperate need of some wins. In the original manga he was mentally broken down by Freeza, couldn't lay a hand on Cell, & could onl...

Really good examples, Emperior. When you look closer at the details of the people's everyday lives and their interactions with one another, the benefits really do start to show, it looks like. One thing that comes to mind which I think would be perfect for Bulma and Capsule Corporation to accomplish...

Re: Would It Have Mattered If Anyone Else Knew The Kaio-Ken?

Kaioken might be acclimatisable to an extent. We did see Goku expand upon the technique between the Saiyan arc and when he first touched down on Namek by raising the multiplier to x10 and x20 successively. Back during the Vegeta fight he was struggling just to remain upright and not keel over from t...

How have the actions of Goku and others benefited Dragon Ball's Earth?

I mean apart from protecting Earth obviously. Is there anything that could be said that's helped to benefit the planet? You know, make it a better society as a whole when in comparison to before Goku came onto the scene. One example of this that I can think of is the threaded action & consequence of...

Ah, Bring back an old villain...BTW I'm shocked you haven't watched a full DB movie in it's entirety. Does that include DB Super's movies too? I'm not so much an anime watcher as I am a manga reader. I did start watching Dragon Ball Super at around the end of the RoF arc but all of the films, inclu...
