Re: If it had been F Gohan that gone to the past, who would Goku have taken into ROSAT?

Maybe not better in the sense of basic usable potential for growth but young Gohan would make better sense from a long term strategic point of view. Think about it, in the present timeline the greatest menace had assimilated both cyborgs, who in themselves turned out to be stronger than their future...

Re: Super Saiyan and Ultra Instinct combined?! (spoilers)

As an admittedly biased person, I hope this doesn't become a reality. Ultra Instinct by itself being rendered into a pseudo visual transformation for Goku already seemed to defy the premise of the technique that others like Beerus and Whis had demonstrated. Goku will continue to grow stronger while ...

Re: Can Vegeta Defeat Beerus In A Fight Now?

I doubt it. Vegeta is probably stronger by some indeterminate amount but I don't think he's powerful enough to take on Beerus. The Yardratians have bizarre abilities but so far all we've seen are akin to what others like Tenshinhan and Piccolo have already used.

Re: Is 'Ultimate' Still Representative Of Gohan's Final Form/State Or Can He Ascend Further?

Do you mean will he revert back to relying on the old transformation mechanic to impress on the audience his strength progress? Personally, I hope not. I'm one of those fans who's grown tired of the constant piling on and would prefer something a bit different. Now if Gohan somehow learned the Kaiok...

Re: Did Goku Unintentionally Sabotage The Strength Gains Of The Z Senshi Against Cell?

Goku was able to capitalise on his son's amazing potential while he trained. Vegeta's pride and inkling for going at things alone disinclined him from working with anyone else to make the most of the regimen. What might have been a better scenario to ponder on was the possibility of Trunks working a...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Brilliant tactician is an exaggeration, but the Android Saga and onward did paint him as someone that was more resourceful- getting Cell to lower his guard in order to find out who and what he was , being able to tell from the start that Android 21 was Doctor Gero. Nothing that extremely brainy fro...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Piccolo was a brilliant tactician that could hold his own against the fiercest warriors earth had to offer. Now he gets a few panels to job to some newly introduced fodder? Get out of here with that shit. I never saw that aspect of Piccolo's character in the original series. Like, ever. Regardless,...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Has there even been any confirmation that Goten and Trunks have been pursuant of their training since the Buu arc? I can't remember. I hope it's not unconscionable in the minds of a lot of fans to believe that a dedicated training grinder like Tenshinhan could surpass the kids whose own regimens ar...

Re: Are there any examples of a character winning a battle through strategy instead of strength?

It's interesting to see how so many of the fights cited seem to occur during DB Super. Original Dragon Ball does seem like a different kettle of fish when you think about how it became so rooted in quantitative power over everything else. DB Super still follows this tradition for the most part but i...

Re: Realization About Gero

To be fair, as a scientist in the Red Ribbon Army, he probably did do some research into the lunges, twists, pivots, and pulls of coded fighting in order to give his android/cyborg creations some hand-to-hand capabilities beyond just grabbing someone and squeezing them to death (this program existed...

Re: Why didn't Goku hit Chichi during their fight?

Probably just had to do with confusion on his part as to why this unfamiliar girl seemed to harbour a grudge against him and was so fixated on him instead of the general event. Goku likely suspected that he was already more than powerful enough to dispatch her with ease. His focus in that fight was ...

Re: Why wasn't Mafuba used more often?

Like others have mentioned, pragmatic approaches to world-ending dangers are usually not part of the standard approach for Earth's defenders. They generally prefer conventionalist fisticuffs that allow them to test their mettle against hardened powerful warriors through whom they're able to test the...

Re: The strongest Goku that Hercule can defeat.

Theoretically Mr Satan could defeat any of the Gokus if you give him every tool and resource that he's been shown to make use of. It would take some persuasive guile to pull off but if he could entice Goku to eat the poison chocolates he offered to Buu then that could clench it for him. Mr Satan mad...

Re: The Mysterious Merus!!

I think I agree with "Lord Beerus". It would be refreshing to see someone like Merus from U7 who got to where they were with persistent toiling and a shrewdly efficient regimen. I admit, it's awfully coincidental how Merus not only has knowledge of Ultra Instinct but seems to resemble angels with hi...

It's like a state of psycho-emotional equilibrium right? No anger, no frustration, no aggression, or anything really. Since this new description has come out, what I'm thinking now is could this be artificially replicated? Maybe a psychotropic that can induce such a state. It sounds awfully like Ger...

This is shaping up to fit some of the fan requests that have been getting posted -- you know, things like the other Z-fighters handling henchmen while Goku and Vegeta are off-world doing something else. Kudos to those who brought it up. As a Piccolo fan, I certainly appreciate the involvement of eve...

why do I feel like this new chapter will be filled with more exposition and lore building than fighting ? if so I'm all for it Same here. Re: Hit vs Dyspo was the most strategic fight in the series?

I think you're going to be hardpressed to find a DB battle with as much of a thorough emphasis on tactics as the Hit vs Dyspo encounter. The gauntlet battle against Vegeta in the Saiyan arc placed some decent emphasis on teamwork and attritional warfare but it failed to really go anywhere afterwards...

I bet Gohan doesn't appear at all. Toriyama doesn't really think much of Gohan as a character and hasn't really thrown him that much of a bone since Resurrection F. And even in that instance, Toriyama wrote Gohan in a scenerio where he couldn't transform into anything beyond SSJ and jobbed out to F...
