Re: It’s time for fans to come together and remaster the series properly.

Ever since my SRTO hit, I’ve entertained the thought of investing $500,000+ of my personally money into remastering the entire series. I would like to hire a company or group of people to work on this under strict supervision. We need to preserve this series in the best possible quality. It’s time ...

Re: Has there ever been an English va that captured Masako Nozawak's performance as Son Goku?

It's just a weird wacky performance. And it's that weirdness and wackiness that sets him apart from the other English VAs and puts him into Nozawa's ballpark. Those are kind of different things though. Yeah I agree Kelamis was by far the most unique English Goku. Ian Corlette, Kirby Marrow, and Sea...

I quite like that they changed the name of Videl's superhero identity from "Great Saiyaman #2" to "Saiyagirl".
Saiyagirl? That’s not very PC. What about Saiyawoman or Saiyaperson.

. I still wonder why they cast Delgadillo 20 years ago. Her voice was so soft spoken.
Probably for the same reason they cast Leslie Alexander, who sounded like a middle aged British nanny who had been hitting the bottle, for Bulma. You gotta wonder about the auditionees who didn’t make the cut.

Re: Has there ever been an English va that captured Masako Nozawak's performance as Son Goku?

I think I’ve said it before, Barbara Goodson’s Goku/Zero sounds remarkably like Nozawa’s Kid Goku albeit it with a bit of a cheesy 80’s kids cartoon filter. A few of Kelamis’s screams and Kaio-Ken’s sounds in World’s Strongest sounds eerily similar to Nozawa’s Goku but I’d be pressed to say his role...

So condensing things is asking for problems to bite you in the butt later.
Dragon Ball has a precedent of remaking/rehashing story arcs into a condense 40-60 minute movie.

There’s no reason the first Dragon Ball movie couldn’t be basically live action Path to Ultimate Power

Re: English Movie Titles - TOEI Vs. FUNimation

Okay but you’re not using Toei’s titles. You’re using the Ab Groupe titles. Dragon Ball movie 2 is Sleeping Princess in Devil’s castle (the word hime is in the title) Dragon Ball movie 4 is Path to Ultimate Power NOT Way of the Strongest DBZ movie 1 is called Return my Gohan NOT In Pursuit of Garlic...

Re: Dragon Ball Evolution: A 10th Anniversary Retrospective

Granted, I've only ever seen either film once, but from what I can recall, I'm not sure how you would qualify either as worse to any significant degree. Bayformers 2 was an assault on my eyes, ears, and brain for how goddamn stupid it was. I don’t give one iota of a fuck about Transformers its just...

...I feel like it bears mentioning that 2009 is also the year that gave us X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. It was an interesting year in film history.
You also had Transformers 2 that year and that movie is just as awful as Dragon Ball Evolution,.

Re: Dragon Ball Evolution: A 10th Anniversary Retrospective

The thing is even though Dragon Ball Evolution is pretty bad and has that “this really should have been straight to dvd vibe” it’s not even worst movie of 2009. Zombieween 2 and Bayformers 2 also came out in 2009. They’re both far far worse than Dragon Ball evolution. 2009 was not a good year for ma...

Oops i misspoke there, for some reason i momentarily forgot that they went back and re dubbed 1-13 in addition to continuing on through to the end. :? In your defense due to Trimark still having distribution rights for the first 13 episodes the in-house dub of those episode didn’t get a home video ...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

Call me nostalgia blind, but if I ever decide to rewatch DBZ again, certainly will be the original. I never liked Kai, the soundtracks from the first part are okay, but performances are way below the original anime, the second part was just awful. I can take Z with the bunch of fillers and episodes...

Re: Why did the Blue Water and Big Green dubs keep the original score?

Some of those international dubs were bankrolled by big multi-media conglomerates like AB Groupe (France) and Televisa (Mexico). Funimation was a much smaller company at the time the in-house dub of DBZ was first produced. Pioneer's American division at the time was an arm of a major Japanese elect...
