Re: Vic Mignogna

Technically speaking the case isn't over due to the appeal, How long do these appeals usually take? I just want to have some laugh to watch them fail just like anything these "lawyers" do. And then watch Vic start a 2nd court case because he apparently wants to spend the rest of his life with them....

Re: Vic Mignogna

Technically speaking the case isn't over due to the appeal, but unless something extraordinary happens (like Beard actually consults himself rather than his Discord chat), the fat lady has only one last nail to put into the coffin of the last page of the music sheet she has to sing. ...okay that met...

Re: Original Dragon Ball anime to be released on Blu Ray in Spain

More accessible, yeah, but it's making people think it's a HD product when it's not and that's not really better than Funimation. It's just bad in another way That's true. I was about to disagree with you until I remembered that it's still seven episode per disc, when a Blu-Ray could hold as many a...

Re: Original Dragon Ball anime to be released on Blu Ray in Spain

I don't mean to rain on your parade but you know these are dbox upscales, right? That still makes them more accessible. Blu-Ray only has three regions and this still has the Japanese audio track, so if you're in Europe, the UK or the Pacific regions and just want to watch Dragon Ball subbed in the ...

Official listing with a picture! Have to say, the boxart is quite tasteful, I like how it even looks a little like a Tankobon cover! https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mubis.es%2Ftitulos%2Fdragon-ball-box-1-blu-ray http://www.mubis.es/media/releases/11634/24757...

Kind of like when I tried to tell him what Kiwi Farms was doing on Twitter, and got no response.
To be fair, you'd be lucky to get a response from many high-profile people on Twitter.

Re: Did Dragon Ball Get Lucky?-The Good Faith Version.

Even then, though Kai's Japanese version may not be quite as great as the original Z i'm sure glad it gave us a way better acted and scripted English dub of the show. Agreed. Not 100% perfect (or even 60% for some), but it's an acceptable way for a fan to come in and experience something closer to ...

Re: Vic Mignogna

Well, slight note on this. You're absolutely right for the most part. However, technically, if the production in question is a union production--which it absolutely was in the case of R&C, given James Arnold Taylor's involvement--then the actors who are hired are indeed considered employees. They a...

...I'm just in utter awe at the moment that Vic is that stupid . This should be over (and very likely still is, right?), but to just refuse to give up and stick your head this far into the dirt is...astounding, really. Considering Vic hasn't been attending these court proceedings, it wouldn't shock...

Re: Did Dragon Ball Get Lucky?-The Good Faith Version.

I think Toei does the usual company shtick, y'know the whole "we want all our works to be consumed by everyone and blah blah blah", but in reality they know their main demographic. Their exploitation of nostalgia in this whole revival era is proof of that. That doesn't answer the whole censoring BD...

I commend your efforts to attempt to fix the OG DB dub in your recut. Personally, I don't think I'd have the patience. Thanks! I chalk it up to my preference and fondess for that dub, whereas someone like yourself who can't stand it wouldn't be bothered. I actually already did an initial pass...

I'm a freelance guide writer for IGN so I'm in a somewhat comparable situation as Vic regarding how he was hired. I don't work with IGN or as IGN, I work for IGN. If a scandal hypothetically came out about me, IGN is well within their rights to not contract me for future work, just like Funi with Vi...

Re: There is a chance of Funimation fix the errors in the 30th anniversary set?

Even if Funimation put out something like the Level Sets, over time, would that be enough? Despite how decent they might look, Funimation is still using their masters, which are several generations removed from the original film. At the end of the day, no matter what Funimation does to its film -- ...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread

Blue's "My long lost brother Samuel!" is often forgiven for how abhorrent the original scene was, but what about Roshi's pointlessly censored dialogue where he asks Bulma to take a walk with him around his island (and then Oolong, shapeshifted to Bulma, proceeds to do what we all know he did in tha...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread

For as much as I cannot stand FUNimation's treatment of the franchise, they at least have been consistently leaving the franchise uncensored since the early 2000s. Incorrect. Assuming we exclude the TV edits, and the censored/cut counterparts to the uncut home video... They still censored tons of d...

Re: Dragon Ball Movies HD Remaster - Amazon Video/Netflix Japan - Discussion Thread

Are Japanese standards becoming really toned down and worried about offending people lately, or is Toei just being completely moronic? Judging from Kei17's reaction, I'm sure it's the latter. I think it's more Toei. Remember, they want money, and if they want to take their product around the world,...

Re: Did Dragon Ball sleep on utilizing an angry Goku?

with Frieza he actually wanted to break his spirit and made sure to twist the knife real good when he ended the fight. That's a departure for him. That and Goku was kinda disappointed that for all his power, Frieza has a bad habit of not realizing when he's in a losing situation and is just as stub...

Re: ss4 started trend of overdesigned fan fictiony forms

I have seen some people suggest that the Super Saiyan 3 transformation was meant to be a self-parody of the series’ over reliance on Super Saiyans by that point, but I’m not entirely sure I buy that explanation, since the transformation itself wasn’t really played for laughs in-universe. I don't th...

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Composer" Shuky Levy accused of attempted murder by Sarah Brown

I though murder was already said to be hands down the absolute worst of all criminal acts, exactly how is it debatable as to which is worse than the other? I think the debate falls under "fate worse than death". For example, being tortured for weeks is arguably much more cruel and damaging than kil...
