He is probably going to be a reluctant ally in some of the next stories. I guess at some point he will come with a scheme of his own and be put back in hell, but I'm not sure about this; Toriyama seems more fond of the character nowadays than he ever was.

Goku and 17 wouldn't set anything up with their wishes, and in the manga Goku said he'd give the balls to 17. So that means he's not winning.

He would be fit for the role but we would lose sight on him.
He would stay in his "realm" and it would be unlikely to see him again.

It would be more intriguing for the audience to have him fight (and evolving) alongside Goku Vegeta and the others.

I was actually hoping for Frieza to have been the one to incapacitate Goku at the end, if only to firmly cement his place as a villain. I really, really, REALLY don't like the direction they're heading with that character.
