Can you please let your opinion on Toyotarou rest?
No.
You fail to mention Toyotarou has not had a competent editor.
That doesn't change the fact that, based on these interviews, he doesn't know what he's doing.
There's plenty of people who think he's a competent story writer and competent ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
I can't help but feel that when people note how Toriyama seemed to have no interest in writing for Gohan... well, that might be an understatement.
I don't think it was Toriyama not being interested in him, but rather not knowing what to do with him. Gohan had a full character arc spread across ...

Re: What's Canon ? We Finally Have an Answer
I've noticed people apply this weird, arbitrary rule of, "If Akira Toriyama was involved, it's automatically canon!" as if authors don't write side stories or pick and choose what particular things they want to write around for said story. And now with Daima we have two "Toriyama-approved" stories ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
Did it ever feel like Gohan was set to DO anything meaningful in the Buu arc that actually furthered his character significantly, at least compared to folks like Vegeta and Mr. Satan?
Both Gohan and Piccolo had their story arcs wrapped up very nicely in the Cell arc. The Buu arc served to show us ...

Re: Official confirmation Toriyama wanted to end Dragonball at the Cell Saga
I think the cell arc ending works as the end point for Goku's story but it feels like just the beginning of Gohans story, so i dont know exactly how i feel about it as an ending DB as a whole there but I could believe that it effectively functions as Goku's end(had they decided to commit to that ...

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
What was the point of the CGI segments in Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, and Broly ? they were so far and few between that wouldn't it have been better to just traditionally animate them like the rest of the movie ? In Battle of Gods for example, there's a few seconds of Goku just running towards ...

It's the year 2025 and we still don't have any interview questioning why the fuck Dende was Earth's God in DBZ Movie 6, which came out 7 months before that was the case in the manga and if there were more plot points lile this the anime team were told way ahead of time.
I don't think it's ...

Re: "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" Official Discussion Thread
Just finished this. Combat is probably more fun than ever in this game. I never knew I wanted ground horde battles. Shit's pretty thrilling.
Now that ground combat has been established, I hope it opens the door for DLC based on the Pilaf to King Piccolo arcs. These DLCs are clearly selling well ...

Re: Why are we still stuck in the "10 years" period?
When I think of Goten...does he even have a personality outside being Trunks' naive little playmate and Fusion Dance partner? I know the fandom talks about characters Toriyama forgot about or neglected but I don't think Goten is brought up when you realize how underdeveloped he is, especially as ...

This is such a rich story that it's a shame no one's attempted to adapt it into an anime yet.Grimlock wrote: Sat Jul 19, 2025 9:21 pmVegeta th3 4th wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2025 11:10 amIn your opinion, which sequel was a worthy successor to the original manga ? You might be able to get away with a limited 13 episode series, but not much more than that.Dragon Ball Ireland wrote: Fri Jul 18, 2025 5:21 pmA Dragon Ball slice-of-life anime would be amazing and perfect for this "10 years of peace".

Hopefully no one stops Toyotaro if he ever decides to use Dragon Ball Online content moving forward. As it should have already happened years ago.

Re: MistareFusion's Dragon Ball Dissection! (Updated 7/14/25!)
I'm not sure how accurate this is, but there were reports early on leading up to the film's production that the budget was $100 million, but was cut down until it eventually reached $30 million. If that's the case (does anyone know for sure ?), then I wonder how much better this movie could've been ...

But please, no more high-stakes, earth-threatening, new-form-needing plots. I want to see more slice-of-life Dragon Ball: Gohan resuming his studies, getting ready to marry Videl, Goku and Satan being bored, Goten trying to get dates, family-man Vegeta, Trunks trying to be a normal kid, etc.
I ...

Re: Why are we still stuck in the "10 years" period?
I doubt that there would be more of Goten and Trunks. Toriyama seemed wholly undisinterested in writing them and the other production committee members seemed disinterested in asking him to include more for them to do.
Pretty much. Toyo is like the first person in 30 years among all the people ...

I've seen you tend to discuss media in a weird way that doesn't really lead to a lot of great discussion & more often than not, a thread gets derailed a lot of the time when you're in it.

Shueisha seems to view each DB title as their own thing. Whatever happens in one does not always effect the other.
This way of doing thing has its advantages, as it doesn't limit what one show can do as a result of something happening in another. Super as a whole wouldn't be able to happen if it ...

He was asked by a fan last week what he considers to be canon, and he said that it's up to each individual fans to decide that for themselves, and that he considers online as part of his own canon.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I've not read any of this fan manga. Gimme 3 reasons I should read and 3 I shouldn't. I like character building, action and humor.
Pros:
+It's set after the end of Z.
+More often than not it's well drawn.
+Any what-if scenario is presented here.
Cons:
-It's far too long.
-All build up, zero pay ...
