Re: Manga Logo Catalogue
I noticed in the imgur album you described the "circle-crossbar-A's" logo as first appearing in WSJ 1984 #51, but it was #50.

Re: Manga Logo Catalogue
Thank you! And ooo, I've never heard of that thread! It's one of the stickies. Is there a way to get a better scan of the "Circle As" logo? Unfortunately I don't own any physical copies to scan. I just have a few images that I found some time ago. There's probably a better one out there some...

Re: Manga Logo Catalogue
Fantastic work, KBABZ! I've been interested in this subject for a few years now, but I've never really had the eye for it. So kudos to you for a fantastic and thorough breakdown. I nominate this thread for inclusion in the Kanzenshuu-Approved Community Posts of Information Awesomeness & Importance t...

Re: Chapter Title Pages in Viz' Version of the Manga Confusion
Great! I'll check it out. Huh, I didn't know some title pages weren't included in the original tankobon. I understand the Kanzenban version had all of the title pages. Out of curiosity, do you know if the Kanzenban had the chapters all in the back or alongside the chapters or was it an inconsistent...

Re: Chapter Title Pages in Viz' Version of the Manga Confusion
If you're interested in seeing all of the title pages and learning more about them, seeing which chapters have a title page and which don't, etc, I recommend thumbing through Kanzenshuu's tankobon guide to start out with. Obviously Viz's graphic novels are based on the tankobon and although I've nev...

Re: Is King Cold stronger than Freeza?
It's very difficult to say with any certainty how strong Cold is since Trunks kills both him and Freeza so quickly. All you know for sure is that his normal ki is in the same ballpark as whatever percentage of power Freeza was using when they landed on Earth. Making a bunch of assumptions on my end,...

Re: Is King Cold stronger than Freeza?
I'm surprised nobody has pulled the relevant quotes from the strength checker yet. Chapter: 329 (DBZ 135), P11.5 Kuririn: “Did you feel it, Gohan!? That absolutely incredible ki!” Chapter: 329 (DBZ 135), P12.3 Tenshinhan: “It…it’s not just one… There’s another absurdly large ki…” Chapter: 330 (DBZ 1...

Re: General Website Goofs/Errors
I was looking through the Influential Non-Story Aspects tidbit-guide-thing today (a very cool guide BTW) and noticed that Influence #19 does not credit Chapter 004 for its background. The circle has been moved up and the motorcycle has presumably been removed, and obviously little Goku is gone, but ...

Re: Cannons and Power Levels
I believe there are still really good conversations to be had regarding "canon". There is just so much you can say about it and so many ways you can define it. It's thrilling how it can mean so much and also mean nothing at the same time. You would probably have to write a phone book-sized encyclope...

Re: Cell was lying about his regeneration
I disagree, I go with the interpretation that the nucleus isn't needed if he still has a lot of body mass left. Yeah, same. Agreed on my end as well. Cell's body can continue regenerating even if only his nucleus remains, not that he can "only" regenerate if it remains. Here's Herms's translation. ...

Re: Official Dragon Ball Monopoly Announced
It looks like someone took Sparking! character models, pasted them over one-color backgrounds like a meme, and stuck them on a game board. Seriously, this looks like what you'd get if you told a 12 year old with no money to make Dragon Ball Z Monopoly.

Re: Versions of DBZ Films 1-13
I don't think there were entire minutes of footage cut. I think it was mostly blood that was cut out. Does anyone know if they cut out 13 punching Goku in the nards? I could be totally off here, but I think minutes were cut from the films. When you compare the running times listed on the back of th...

That image appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump 1986 #05, street dated 20 December 1985, coinciding with chapter #055 . It was part of a series of images used for that year's Jump/Dragon Ball calendar. Awesome! Thank you, Friend. I was not aware of Yamcha ever wielding a Panzerschreck in Toriyama's art (...

and they changed the colour of the kamehameha. The Kamehameha was never blue to begin with as far as the manga is concerned. In fact, in what I think was the only full color chapter it appeared in, it was white. And white isn't exactly the most interesting color choice for the "full color" manga, s...

Re: How big was the gap between Super Vegeta and Suppressed Perfect Cell?
For all the reasons you pointed out, Cell at his "warming up" battle strength is approximately equal to SS Grade 2 Vegeta. I'd estimate within 5%. Once Vegeta tells Cells to fight him like he means it, Cell beats him convincingly without having to power up.

Re: Has Majin Buu become less special because of the intro of Gods/Kai's?
You said it yourself: Boo was the prior arc's main villain. At least Super is doing him the favor of having the new villains be like "Oh yeah, Majin Boo... I've heard of him."
I don't think he's less special because of the new material.

Re: A re-release for the Dragon Ball manga
As some others have said, the next Dragon Ball release by Viz would have to be nearly perfect in all aspects to get me to purchase it once again. Unedited artwork including speech bubbles and SFX, no visual censorship whatsoever, includes all of the color pages, and a heavily touched up translation....
