Went to my local Kinokuniya and picked up a japanese copy of the 30th anniversary Super History Book. Nice hardcover that's jam-packed with interviews as well as an overview of Toriyama media up to that point. Also picked up a Japanese copy of Dragon Ball vol 10.

Dragon Ball Z might have been successful on another channel--I don't know if it would have found the level of success it did on CN/Toonami. Because it wasn't just they had it airing, they went out of their way to pretty much make an audience for DBZ. DBZ was "cool" and CN/Toonami did a bang up job ...

I’m not disagreeing with you. I'm just resigned to the notion of when it comes to Dragonball stories, whether in the anime or game, “it is what it is” they won’t ever go beyond fanservice.

I think at this point if you’re expecting that level of storytelling from a Dragonball video game….kinda doing it to yourself at this point.

My default stance is this: They can't hurt me anymore because as far as I'm concerned, Dragon Ball ended with Goku flying away with Uub. Everything else has either been fun distractions (Daima, the last couple of movies) or shit that I can ignore (Minus, Super, Heroes, etc).
