I like the little noise the Dragonballs make when they glow in the very first episode of the series.

This isn't DB exactly, but Keiko Han who plays Luna also played Doranpaia in Dr. Slump.
Hiroko Emori (Chaozu) plays Balm from Episode 2.
Kazumi Tanaka (Jeese) plays Manager from episode 7.
Kohei Miyauchi (Kame-sennin) plays a Fortuneteller from Episode 3.

I never even heard it during those episodes, but maybe I'd have to go back and give 'em a listen.

Yep. The New Remix Long Version is on Hit 5, then it reappeared on the 5 CD set. I believe the only Dragon Ball Z CD with the original is the Bukkun disc.
