Big bump, because sometimes people find this thread and track me down to ask about the project.
I didn't work on it for a few years because ADHD, but I've picked it up again recently.

Re: The so-called "VHS Revival". Would you want Dragon Ball collector's releases on the format?
I actually like buying anime on VHS and I can't imagine anyone wanting or needing a new release of DBZ. It'd take up so much damn shelf space, and most of it isn't exactly hard to find used anyway.
Would it be really interesting if you have recorded VHS tapes of the entire original DB anime ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is coming to the Netherlands
I can't imagine a Dutch dub is going to be any good or that the target audience will enjoy such a thing. Back in the day when DBZ was on TV in English, the idea of it being dubbed in Dutch was a common joke just because of how stupid it would sound.

Re: AI generated footage of Masako Nozawa on kuaishou
Nobody is arguing against any of those applications of AI, not least because the only type of "AI" (actually machine learning) marketed to the general public is the type that's making everyone's experience with technology worse.
Image-generating AI doesn't "learn general rules like people do"--it's ...

Re: Which English dub terms are legit translations and not just Funi shit
"Bra", to me, is an acceptable translation of "ブラ", although it sounds more like "bruh". "Bula" and "Bura" might also work, but both names lose the "woman's bra" reference. "Bulla", however, is an incorrect transliteration of "ブラ" because there is no katakana sokuon ("ッ") between "bu" ("ブ") and ...

Re: Funimation's Early "Accurate dubs" vs their later work (Both DB and others)
The word "accurate" gets thrown around a lot when it comes to anime dubs (and localizing Japanese stuff in general), but I think a lot of disagreements arise because people don't even have a common understanding of an "accurate" localization.

Re: How Eguchi Hisashi's Manga About a Trans Girl Nearly Ended "Dr. Slump" Early
If Shen Long can't make me pregnant, what even is the point of being a wish-granting dragon god? Smh
(But no, really, that's some fucked up shit, I hope nobody ever decides that that's a thing)
I always assumed that Shen Long couldn't turn the androids back to humans because of the whole "can ...

Really cool trailer. Got super excited when "Saikyou no Fusion" started playing. But then it said "This background music is not included in the game."
Same! I can't remember the last time I got so hyped and then immediately disappointed. ^.^;
I hope there's a cool DLC pack with vocal ...

Re: How Eguchi Hisashi's Manga About a Trans Girl Nearly Ended "Dr. Slump" Early
It's kinda crazy to learn that Hibari-kun was so popular, considering I never heard about it until a few years ago when trans YouTubers started promoting it.
I dunno if the manga continuing would have really had much of a knock-on effect on other works or the general way cis people think about ...

Related unpopular take: Yamamoto improved a lot of the stuff he swiped, especially that Avatar track that supposedly got him caught. It's really made me reconsider how much copyright law as it exists even makes any sense. Hell knows the human race got along fine without it for a long, long time.

Re: When exactly did the Ocean cast return to Dragon Ball Z?
Comparing the Dutch airdates to the UK ones, it's interesting that the UK chose to just delay airing any Westwood episodes at all, leaving the show stuck in the middle of the Trunks stuff. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think it's possible that Cartoon Network NL wanted to put their ...

I can confirm that DBZ started airing on August 28, 2000 in the Netherlands as this is when it first appears in newspaper TV listings. The series premiered with two episodes, and then subsequently would air the previous day's second episode along with a new one each subsequent day, every weekday ...

Spoiler: Companies are not people. They don't have opinions. Any time they publicly declare they're in support or opposition to something, it's a pr stunt to make customers associate them with an opinion they think is good.
That's why some companies will immediately dress up in rainbows during ...

Super Saiya Densetsu remake project
I've always been a big fan of Super Saiya Densetsu; the card battle system is cool, and I like the way you can go off the story rails and do things like keep most of the cast alive through the Saiyan fights. That said, it does have its downsides; the game is a huge grindfest, the music inevitably ...

Cool video! I was never very good at this game, so it's cool to see a playthrough by someone who actually knows what they're doing.

This is kind of a long shot, but could you be thinking of Seiryuu from Fushigi Yuugi as seen in this video?

Honestly, I still use a lot of dubisms just because outside of this website, most people aren't going to know what the heck I'm talking about otherwise.
That said, I've never used FUNimation's pronunciation of "Bulma" because... well, I don't know honestly--I think when I was a kid, my brain just ...

I'm surprised he didn't start a new name.
Well, nice to see him working again.
Assuming JASRAC works the same way as similar agencies in other countries, the compositions would be listed here under his legal name no matter what. He could use a different name on the credits of an actual release ...
