Re: Super Saiya Densetsu remake project
Thanks for your insight! The reason I want to get certain things to work like the original game is because I've played plenty of fan remake projects where the feel is just totally off. SSD may have some questionable balance, but every action you take feels like it has the "correct" outcome without ...

Re: 15th Anniversary of the Kenji Yamamoto controversy.
That's pretty interesting. I'm still suspicious of it though, given that BPU was in the show, unless somehow every single person responsible for making a DBZ song compilation just totally missed it.
It'd be cool if we could find out more about how insert songs were chosen for DBZ, since DB had ...

Re: 15th Anniversary of the Kenji Yamamoto controversy.
The way this was handled is complete bullshit. It's almost certain Toei knew about this problem for a very long time, given that Battle Point Unlimited was kept off compilations despite being in the fucking show unlike a lot of the lame image songs. And yet they were happy to keep on trucking until ...

Re: Super Saiya Densetsu remake project
I wanted to escape from battle screen hell, so I made a bunch of map and menu-related stuff.

If you're erased, you have no means of being aware of your non-existence.

Re: [Theory] The definitive proof that Future Goku NEVER learned Instant Transmission
Cell wasn't able to observe the technique properly while understanding what it was and knowing it was coming until his self-destruction. When he saw it in his second form, he didn't know what was happening, and when Goku used the Warp Kamehameha, he was taken off-guard.

Re: DBZ's Japanese Audio on Blu-Ray
I guess people associate mono with "old" and "low quality" because stereo-mixed music became more common and less gimmicky in the same period that a lot of music started having higher production values, and in a busy mix stereo can definitely provide additional clarity. I don't think most people ...

Re: Kid Boo Finale... Was Namek Necessary?
I don't think it's improbable that Vegeta would have learned about the Genki Dama at some point, especially because it's the last move Goku did before becoming a Super Saiyan. Given how badly he wanted to surpass Goku, it makes sense that he'd get all info possible on what the latter did. He could ...

Here's a little comparison between Neo-Raws and 40th:

Re: Dragon Ball / Z 40th Project AI - opinions and discussion
Using AI is lame and bad. Hot take, I know, but dang, why does this just come across as some sort of grift? You want to celebrate Dragon Ball's anniversary? Go make something yourself. Hell, make an original work unconnected to the IP, that's an even better way of celebrating Dragon Ball.
There ...

Re: Super Saiya Densetsu remake project
I've started properly implementing the regular attack animations. I've had to do a lot of refactoring since the previous work I did on this was under a bunch of mistaken assumptions, but now that I've got the foundation, it should be smooth sailing for the rest of this bit!

I originally assumed that the cards you get are totally random, but apparently, this isn't the case. I can't find the comment anymore, but a Japanese player on some discussion thread somewhere was able to discern that there are actually two built-in rows of cards that are ...

Re: Super Saiya Densetsu remake project
I planned from the start to extend the game to the Cell arc. However, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to make it its own campaign or even a sequel using the remake as a base. If I put it all together, I'd have to alter or remove a lot of stuff from the end of the original game ...

They would have to go back and re-edit any of his music that he worked on.
Or they can just hire another video game music composer to compose new, non-plagiarized background music to replace the background music in all the Dragon Ball games Kenji Yamamoto worked on.
The other times they ...

Anti-fascists are anti-AI and fascists are pro-AI, so that should tell you everything you need to know, I would offer.
Sadly, I have seen some people on the left use AI art to make anti-fascist and anti-capitalist stuff. People are too lazy to hire people to make art. I have done art for ...

At my current point of progress, I have enough of both the battle and map systems working that I could get pretty far. But there are a few things I want to make sure to get right before I get too far into the weeds, and because I can't figure out exactly how they work in the original, I'm stuck ...

Re: Did the Toonami US edit censor Cell absorbing his first victim?
I don't know about the US, but I'm positive the Dutch airing of the Westwood dub (at least the initial one) did show it, because it freaked me the hell out and the image is burned into my brain. I've never actually gone back and watched a lot of the Imperfect Cell stuff of my own accord because of ...
