Re: Your least liked character/villain/transformation design
I don't mind the design of Demigra and his true form, but as everyone have said in this thread he feels like the odd-one-out more akin to what you'd expect Toriyama would design for a Dragon Quest boss. In regards to least liked design, I'm on the Brolly-bandwagon. IMO would've been nice to see a re...

Long time fan of Street Fighter and the fact that Shoryuken means "Rising Dragon Fist".

I assume they are talking about Super Dragon Ball Z?Quebaz wrote:THERE'S ALREADY A DBS GAME!?FoolsGil wrote:Dragonball Super was such a solid game. It would be nice to have an HD Release with online play, I'd buy a PS4 for that.
Completely agree though, would even double dip if it came to PC as well.

Though DBZBT3 is in many regards an upgrade to DBZBT2, I did like the fact that you could aim your special attacks in DBZBT2.

Re: Super Dragon Ball Z - 10th Anniversary
I liked its distinct charm, due to a choice of giving quality over quantity. You can always count on Capcom to create a solid fighting game. Precisely its quality-over-quantity approach to the cast that meant that each character felt unique and fresh (of course certain character-pairs shared somewh...

Super Dragon Ball Z - 10th Anniversary
2016 marks the 10th anniversary* for the PS2 release of cult-classic and underrated gem that is SDBZ. *Technically speaking 2016 marks the 11th anniversary of the original Japanese arcade release, but most people are familiar with the PS2 release So what's your favourite aspects, memories and so for...

Re: Full colour print editions of DB volumes 1-16 coming
Interesting to hear viz cut out almost all the censoring, anyone know if they still censor/tone down the dialogue though? Last time I read their manga, the amount of "darn you to heck" types of obvious changes were an eyesore. In terms of severity of swearing, the Japanese version only ev...

Viz omitted it for whatever reason, so I am curious if it means anything important. 次はオラの相手だ!!! ( Tsugi wa ora no aite da!!! Next one's my opponent!!!) - Pretty much Goku here. So nothing m...

Re: Games You Want That Will Never Happen
Super Dragon Ball Z 2 with added online support and a similarly sized cast (one of SDBZ' greatest strengths was its quality-over-quantity approach to the cast).

I meant when was it actually filmed, if there gonna show him working on the manga, or is it just him talking about it? Apologies, somehow borked last night whilst reading your question  Going by the fact that the scan detailing the news of the Jump Ryuu series of books stems from a February i...

Well, they did name a Plutonian region after it which must count for something.Polyphase Avatron wrote:I signed the Gallifrey petition... shame nothing came of it.
We can still name a planet Skaro though.

Roughly translated: Son Goku enters Dr. Slump!! Arale's impression, the last Dragon Ball is in Penguin Village!! (I) saw the super secret true character of the Great Ape ("oozaru"). Take this though with a grain of salt as my grasp with Japanese grammar is a tad wobbly. Worth noting that ...

Can someone translate this? It's the title of a special back-to-back broadcast of 2 episodes of 90's Dr. Slump in which Goku appeared. 「ドクタースランプ 悟空登場!!アラレ感激、最後のドラゴンボールはペンギン村にあったぞ!!超マルヒ大ザルの正体を見た」 Roughly translated: Son Goku enters Dr. Slump!! Re: Which translations do you prefer for characters' names?
Translating or adapating any term/name is also an act of precarious linguistic tightrope-walking as you'll never reproduce the original nuances 100% and furthermore there's no guarantee how the intended audience will react since you're catering towards both newcomers as well as seasoned fans. With t...

亀仙人 (Kame Sennin) / 無天老師 (Muten Roushi): For the first I most often use "Kame Sennin" (no apostrophe), although "Turtle Hermit" or even "Turtle Sage" or "Turtle Immortal" (from usual translation I see of Chinese 仙人) would be preferable for me to see in an off...

So, all the Kaioshin avatars show up in Chapter 29 of Victory Mission. The other missing avatars appear in this chapter too, but only the Kaioshin ones seem to receive names since the others literally only show up as background pieces in a single panel. Maybe next chapter, if we ever get another......

Re: Petition: Changing the planet name of Kepler 22-b to "Na
For those who think this is a silly idea and that planets shouldn’t be named after things in pop culture, I just want to mention that Kepler-16b is sometimes called “Tatooine” because it was one the first extrasolar planets discovered in a binary star system. It wasn’t something named by a petition...

Re: Will VIZ ever retranslate the manga?
Am I the only guy fine with Vegerot staying in a hypothetical re-translation? Vegetto is supposed to be a combo of Kakarotto & Vegeta but Goku's Saiyan name in English isn't Kakarotto, its Kakarot. I think Vegerot is certainly an acceptable name, given the circumstances. It's just that Vegetto ...
