For some reason, Toei Europe has become more restrictive in Europe; they've even imposed restrictions such as prohibiting the dub of songs.

It's weird and curious to contrast this with what's happening in America, where we'll soon have a convention featuring Sean Schemmel and Mario Castañeda ...

I heard the same thing about the german dub too... What is wrong with Toei?

As far as I recall, they said the same thing to Philippe Ariotti (Piccolo, Freezer, Babidi in the French dub) and he refused so it wouldn't surprise ...

What countries have had to unnecessary recasts where the voice actors are alive and well for the Dragon Ball Daima dubs, so far? Europe seems to be getting hit hard.

Well, there's the sad passing of Legrand and with it the demand from well established voice actors that a certain person play Vegeta. Toei Europe also asked several voice actors to audition for roles they earlier had and things seem to have stalled after that. Not to mention Daima was heavily ...

Yeah but that doesn't mean you need to redo the translation from scratch. You can use other subs as base.


But, unless the subtitle writers are provided with an EDL (edit decision list) or something similar, they would have to go through the original episodes and manually identify every line ...

Really hope they use Simmons' subs. Toei's own subs are trash for Daima and the yo son Goku spécial.

Even I think that having ALL the Shadow Dragons would be overkill. The final three are plenty. I'd much rather see Redgic, Rild, and Baby filling out the villains side of the GT roster.

I'd rather see them all.
