It depends on what "twins" mean. Is it just the same layout? Or there's a diverging point that makes them different, even if they both started the same. I'll wait and see.Noah wrote:So, there are universes that are "twins" like Universe 6 and 7

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I don't think we know how to answer that yet. I mean, Beerus and Champa are brothers, Whis and Vados are siblings too...but how does that work if they are from different universes? Still, the fact that Universe 6 & 7 are "twins" likely means they probably had a lot of the same races, depending on how events played out for each (like Earth being ravaged in U6). It could very well mean that we could see fat or girl versions of Goku and Vegeta, but they probably wouldn't be named Goku and Vegeta.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It'd be interesting sure, but unfortunately that may have worked before the god stuff. Now It really wouldn't matter. The only way for this to work is to split into teams. Have Goku n Vegeta go to U6, and let stuff happen on earth that allows the humans a chance to shine. Though I doubt that'll happen cause it's been years since they were allowed to truly have a great moment.Bullza wrote:@dbzfan7
I see no reason why they couldn't power them up, Krillin, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Chiaotzu and Roshi could go to the Supreme Kai's world to train, have their potential unlocked, perhaps learn the Kaioken.
It's just that people take power levels way too seriously and it'd be easy for them to bitch about it. Like I said I've seen so many people complaining about how Roshi was able to defeat Freeza's henchmen because he only has a power level of 139 and the soldiers should be over 1,000 etc.
Even if they powered up I don't know what they could do. They'll never beat a main villain and I don't want it to become like One Piece or Fairy Tail where you have to sit through half a dozen filler battles between a secondary character and some notable henchmen before you get to the fight you actually want to see.
So yeah I do think the humans are screwed but something can be done with Piccolo, Goten, Trunks and Gohan. Otherwise just introduce new powerful future Z Fighters.
I ain't sure how much pwr lvl enthusiasts make of the overall fans, so I ain't sure that really concerns them.
I agree, which is why it's probably time to just let those characters go. Just like for the humans in the saiyan saga they had their time and there's not much they want to do to progress them. So it's time to add some new characters and visit the old one's occasionally. We've had new characters come in like Piccolo and Vegeta who came in and phased the others out, and now it's time for another phase out. Vegeta is marketable and important enough to stay so he alongside Goku, Beerus, and Whis are the characters we will be sticking with. The new rivals, enemies, or friends will need screen time so why bother letting the old relic cast take that from them when they aren't using it in any worthwhile way? It's best to give any time the older inefficient cast would have had, to bring in the new characters who we can enjoy exploring and seeing where they'll go.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I love how Vegeta poked fun at the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan name. It's officially now Super Saiyan Blue!...which is also lame, but works much better.
Champa and Beerus are twins. Femwhis = Vados, the sister of Whis.
Beerus is presumably stronger than Champa, but Vados and Whis may be equals, though the former trained the latter.
Annnnd...a new tournament arc awaits. Yay! =D
What I find unique is every universe having its own twin (1 and 12, 2 and 11, 3 and 10, etc.).

But universe 6 is sort of a parallel universe. It has its own versions of universe 7's planets. The only two known inhabitants are identical to their universe 7 counterparts too ("siblings"), which I don't think is a coincidence.Doctor. wrote:It's interesting and something I think nobody expected. Over on the manga thread, it has been suggested it is a pun on Calvados, a french apple brandy, which would make Champa and Valdos' names both puns on french alcohol.FutureGohanSSJ2 wrote:Speaking of Vados, anybody figure out her name-pun yet? That's what I said. I said people were expecting ALL universes to be parallel, or none at all; not something like this.fadeddreams5 wrote:But universe 6 is sort of a parallel universe. Maybe theses Gods transcend the universes, they are all from a God realm, not from specific universes, and they get assigned jobs in different universes.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I don't think we know how to answer that yet. Also, question: Are Vados and Whis twins or just elder sister/younger brother siblings? Did they use the word twins for them too?

So if Vados is her real name, why would they keep that a secret?! Just to generate hype?
Pretty sure there was an interview that said he did...Zombie wrote:No he didn't.Captain Space wrote:They did get eaten by a giant fish, some of 'em...
Then again, at least a good chunk of them must have had some kind of significant power, since apparently Roshi did power up by the events of the movie through training in order to be able to fight them.
They laughed at power levels of 1,000 though, so I assumed that 1,000 was about their average and they were relying on strength in numbers. The Namek warriors were actually at 3,000, that's easily enough to trash a bunch of 1,000s.irreality wrote:Yeah, even in the namek saga, there were plenty of fodder soldiers with guns around that just died from a casual shot or were easily beaten by namekians. For some reason, people seem to think that by simply being a "Freeza Soldier", that implies you have a 1,000 power level. Especially considering that Freeza was hiring new forces in a hurry. It was more of a, "Want to join? Here's a suit of armor. Good luck."

OK, maybe not.
All the Earthlings in Universe 6's version of Earth got wiped out in a war some time ago, so presumably the two universes must be at least a little divergent.LightBing wrote:It depends on what "twins" mean. Yeah, it really splits the difference between the two theories. I kind of like it.Doctor. wrote:It's interesting and something I think nobody expected. People either expected every universe to be parallels or every universe to be different.
Yeah, it's not explicitly said Champa was born in Universe 6 (or that Beerus was born in Universe 7, for that matter).irreality wrote:Maybe theses Gods transcend the universes, they are all from a God realm, not from specific universes, and they get assigned jobs in different universes.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I don't think we know how to answer that yet. Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Hmm, Does doe Whis being trained by his sister 1000 years ago mean he's younger than Beerus?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
The anime version of RoF will more than likely include the scenes of Champa and Vados after the Super Dragon Balls and other new content like Kaioshin and Kibito splitting. Now that the manga skipped RoF, it is probably explained why they covered that stuff earlier.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Hey guys and everyone. This might not be the best place to talk about this, which definitely falls out of any Dragonball-related stuff, but I found nowhere else or any other way to convey the message to as many of you as possible.
Some of you might have noticed that I haven't posted here for a month and a half. I had an intellectual collapse along with several simultaneous other issues on a number of different aspects of my life. The intellectual collapse could be considered the final culmination of a process of all kinds of not-so-healthy obsessions, which, for example, resulted in the fact that, during the time I posted here, between July and September, I wrote huge walls of text, while constantly repeating myself so that nobody would forget the main points I was trying to get at - too many at the same time, too. One small part of an enormous, gigantic wave of intellectual insanity came from the fact that I had such an active part in the numerous discussions in the threads here, which I've kept, all of them, in a document for posterity, but that's really not even 1% of the reason.
For one, I'll from now on try to be less repetitive of my ideas and concepts when addressing all the issues I want to discuss about Dragonball, DBSuper in general and each episode or each specific theme, so that I may became more "readable" (not self-criticizing my way or writing or my carefully-thought and valuable ideas and concepts, just the huge amounts of texts, the excessive themes approached in the same, or in a few posts, and especially the degree to which I constantly repeat the points I really, really wanted and still want to put across.
Finally, and most importantly, I've deeply missed interacting with you in this forum, as I see it as the best way to feel somehow connected to the Dragonball fandom. I obviously continued watching every episode as it aired in Japan in real time since I decided to quit posting, but I very deliberately chose not to continue to discuss anything with you here, for the intellectual strain it, among many other issues, produced.
The fact that I view my participation in the discussions with you, just as we did thoroughly between July and September, as the best way to feel somehow connected to the Dragonball fandom instead of just watching everything and keeping up-to-date with all the news and leaked info, etc., led me to reverse my decision and now I'm ready to come back, although, like I said before, I'll try to adjust the levels of repetition and the amount of text and themes I'll be addressing within the same post.
I hope most of you recall the numerous, thorough discussions we had, the way I wrote and participated, all my points and concepts (if you don't, that's fine, but I know most of you do, at least a big percentage and chunk of it, and besides I have the entire thing documented with me) and I also hope that you value the fact that I missed this to the point of "giving up" on fighting it and finally decide to come back with this announcement and subsequent return to regular and normal participation in the discussions.
Watching it just doesn't quite do it, I need to feel a part of the fandom watching it and discussing it at the same exact time I do, I need to feel that I'm part of the same world we all belong to. I can assure I had a tough time after I deliberately decided to quit posting altogether. I can't do it anymore. I'm back. I missed this, and I missed you guys.

I really wanted Freeza to be a part of the U6 arc but with this tournament is very unlikely.
