I'm a fan of theirs and it was a shame that they were left out completely. It doesn't make much sense because they would have been there, for sure. It's the type of situation they just wouldn't be able to keep away from. I really wanted to see a moment where Freeza recognises Trunks. I understand that there's a lot of characters in the film already though all needing screen time and we did get some nice moments with characters that we don't see shine too often nowadays. Hopefully they're included somehow in the 'Super' anime.

They even left out Gohan in the 1994 Bio-Broli movie.

I just watched the film last night and thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the humor more than anything else. The fight sequences, in particular, weren't very engaging to me, whether it was the Z warriors against Freeza's army, or the dick measuring between Freeza and the Saiyans themselves. I hate that Gohan has gotten so weak, but Piccolo and Roshi both got well deserved moments to shine in battle. The voice actors were great as always. Nakao was given especially nice material to work with. Freeza's personal hell was a great gag, and it's nice that he would be the villain to reinforce the notion that Goku's mercy can be a huge weakness. I wonder how far they'll take that idea in further movies.

As much as I liked the film though, I still believe Freeza should've been killed off and left dead on Namek. He never had a chance of beating Goku or even Vegeta, and if not for reinforcing Whis' lesson to Goku, his return would've been largely pointless.

Definitely a good outing for me. I liked it almost as much as BOG (due to Nakao), and certainly had a lot of fun with it.

Agreed! I really hope that was Goku actually learns something from this going forward in 'Super' and in any future movies. That would be a big development for his character.

We also never got see Mr. Satan in the film too. It would have been great to see him fight Freeza.

C'mon, it wouldn't have been fair on the other heroes, they'd never have gotten a turn.

Hey guys which version of the movie you recommend that I get? Is it worth it getting the DVD/Blu Ray combo pack?

I mean, do you have an HDTV and a Blu-ray player? Getting the Blu-ray is obvious over getting JUST the DVD version. It's a theatrical film, so there's a lot of good detail in the extra resolution.

I honestly wouldn't recommend the "Collector's Edition" combo pack over the standard combo pack, though. The different packaging and four cards are pretty pointless.

Ya it would make sense to get the Blu Ray version of the film since I have a Blu Ray player and a HD TV. I also agree with you on the collector's edition it does look like a waste of money in my opinion.

I still love how both Nakao and Ayres killed it as Freeza on both the JPN and English versions. Like, they steal the show in terms of voice acting. Yes, Jaco's great, and he definitely is top tier in terms on the heroes in the movie, but man, whenever Freeza is just talking and acting all smug, both actors just make it so good. I love it.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

There's a very easy explanation for this. Shisami was never Zarbon level.

In Toriyama's script Shisami doesn't appear until the battle on Earth which implies he is one of the "powerful mercenaries" Freeza hired to buff his army.

Whoever put him in that scene with Tagoma simply didn't care for power levels.

It's still in the film. It doesn't matter if it's in Toriyama's script or not, the film is the product we're all discussing.

Well.... Looks like UK release is indeed January 25th. DVD,BD and CE don't expert much from the CE probably a regular slip cover, art cards and a separate DVD disc that has extras on them just like BoG.

Man, I still don't get the delay. Perhaps it was a logistic problem.

Not at all, it was purely to add breathing room to support the theatrical release. I mean, Manga UK aren't total idiots, they know that the hardcore fanbase will order the US release prior to Christmas.

Same here! I know I read it somewhere. I bet you're right. Maybe it was something from Toriyama's screenplay that got cut.
Yeah, it's in the script. After Kuririn finds out Goku and Vegeta haven't arrived yet:

Kuririn: “Darn them…Well, at least we’ve got Boo…Huh? Where is he!?”
Gohan: “He can’t come…Apparently once he goes to sleep, he doesn’t wake up for quite a while…”

I also believe this was mentioned in Toyotaro's manga adaptation.

I guess that's the trouble with reading so much extra material along with actual news on the movie, for so long before actually getting to see it - it all kind of runs together in my head. ^_^;

Still kind of surprised the line would have gotten axed from the film proper though, especially when Kuririn mentioning Boo prior to that is still there. Seems like a bit of an oversight on Yamamuro's part.

Not really, because including the line would create an inconsistency. Remember, Boo only sleeps for a few seconds before he's fully rested. Of course, this is based on the anime, so I apologize if I'm incorrect in assuming that this was in the manga as well. They should've come up with a replacement excuse, though, like he was busy eating or something.
