Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Has anyone noticed Yajirobe has not appeared in Super or any of the openings/endings? He didn't show up at Bulma's birthday, he isn't featured in any of the opening/ending animations...where is he?
Is Yajirobe going to be the new Launch?

I didn't really expect him to. He wasn't around in the Cell Arc after delivering the senzu and being rescued after his car was blown up. He stayed at Karin Tower. Same for the Buu Arc. If he's going to show up, I imagine it'll be a cameo in Super "F" if they actually show Roshi and Kuririn going to get the senzu.

He doesn't wanna be reduced to being a character who only exists for cheap laughs.

That and his contract was up.DBZAOTA482 wrote:He doesn't wanna be reduced to being a character who only exists for cheap laughs.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Yajirobe was in the 2008 special, I don't know why he wasn't there in either Battle of Gods or Super's adaption.
Its weird, I can understand characters like Korin, Baba, Mr. Popo, Android 17, etc. not showing up...but why exclude Yajirobe?

It doesn't matter to me at all yahi robe has been a waste character to me ever since late dragon ball since he beat tambourine and when he trained with goku other than that he was a waste of screen time dbz for the most part other than cutting of vegeta's tail when he transformed to an ape he was only good for bringing senzu beans in saiyan and android saga when android 19 &20/ dr.gero appears......

I always liked him as a gag character. He's a much better gag character than Pilaf's gang or Mr.Satan.

Where is Lord Popo in Super? I wanna see him in HD. Kame House also debuted in new animation, pretty cool.

Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Bulma's birthday would have been a lot better if it had all the characters we haven't seen in a while show up as well, like Uranai Baba, Yajirobe, Karin, Mr. Popo, Lunch, Upa, Bora, Snow, Android 8, Namu (although maybe having these characters would make more sense if it was Goku's birthday since he knew them better) there are just a lot more opportunities for comedy scenes when you have all these different characters interacting with each other.
Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
None of those people are Bulma's friends (and some have never even met her or know she exists), though, other than Lunch. Why would they be at her party? She didn't get along with Yajirobe whne she met him.Deathbringer wrote:Bulma's birthday would have been a lot better if it had all the characters we haven't seen in a while show up as well, like Uranai Baba, Yajirobe, Karin, Mr. Popo, Lunch, Upa, Bora, Snow, Android 8, Namu (although maybe having these characters would make more sense if it was Goku's birthday since he knew them better) there are just a lot more opportunities for comedy scenes when you have all these different characters interacting with each other.

Yajirobe will show up in the RoF saga and take out a quarter of all of Freeza's soldiers by himself. Everybody will be like "WTF?" but he'll be all chill and explain that he could always do shit like that, if he felt like it.

How often did Bulma ever talk to Tien? Barely ever and he was there.irreality wrote: None of those people are Bulma's friends (and some have never even met her or know she exists), though, other than Lunch. Why would they be at her party? She didn't get along with Yajirobe whne she met him.
Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
She has seen him at two tournaments, plus in the lookout during Cell -- that is like as much as most characters in this series. Plus we don't know if everyone has been hanging out after Buu.precita wrote:How often did Bulma ever talk to Tenshinhan? Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Out-of-universe we have the explanation that Tenshinhan is a secondary character, while Yajirobe was little more than tertiary (his only important appearance was the tail-cutting), and Upa, Nam, #8 are forgotten by now.

Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Yajirobe was around from King Piccolo and remained relevant to the end of the Saiyan saga at least. That's more than some other characters who still manage to appear constantly like Oolong/Puar, Ox King, Bulma's parents, etc.
Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
I like Yajirobe, but after Lunch, he's probably the most pointless "regular" Toriyama ever tried to introduce in DB. With characters like Chaozu or Puar, you can make the case they got decent screentime in the arcs they were introduced, as partners of bigger characters. Oolong was one of Goku's first friends, and also important in the series' first arc. I won't include background people like the Briefs or Ox, as they always had a secondary status. And they're freaking family of the main characters, so of course they won't vanish. Now Yajirobe was just some guy Goku crossed paths in the forest and had a Dragon Ball. He was never really that close to the others.
It's strange, because he fought Goku kind of evenly when they met. His introduction wasn't smooth, if that makes sense. Sometimes i wonder if Toriyama had in mind better things for Yajirobe but it didn't work out, so the tail cutting was a late attempt of finally giving him something relevant to do. That aside, only thing he could do was running errands (and always complaining).

Popo wanted to appear but then he saw the art/animation...Kuririn Fan wrote:Where is Lord Popo in Super? I wanna see him in HD. Kame House also debuted in new animation, pretty cool.

In a way Yajirobe had Mr. Satan's role. The way Yajirobe acts in the Saiyan saga is exactly the same way Mr. Satan is in the Buu saga.Araki wrote: It's strange, because he fought Goku kind of evenly when they met. Yajirobe goes to a press conference to stuff his face with food and talk about how he and his friends will save the world from the Saiyans and how he's a great fighter. Then he actually goes down there as a reluctant hero and manages to actually save the day.
Yajirobe was the original Mr. Satan.
Re: Where is Yajirobe in Super?
Hmm, i guess you could say they overlap. That Yajirobe scene is filler, but they were both the "unexpected but essential help" in those two arcs. Wild cards, if you must.precita wrote:In a way Yajirobe had Mr. Satan's role. The way Yajirobe acts in the Saiyan saga is exactly the same way Mr. Satan is in the Buu saga.

Seeing how Yajirobe is forgotten and Satan introduced around the same point, maybe Toriyama just thought Satan was much more fun to work with.
