^ not this again... Episode 5 was bad, everyone knows that, a deviantart user is not cranking out hundreds of frames for 2$ a frame (which means to make about 8$ an hour they have 15 minutes to draw each frame from start to finish -- less if they want to make more money), you are comparing a movie key frame screen cap with a random episode in between…

Animation is sometimes good, sometimes very good, but sometimes really, really bad.
Another thing I REALLY hate is the new art style, it looks like a 12 year old kid is drawing it on Paint. DBZ had much better art and colors and it was a lot more consistent than Super.
I don't remember DBZ having bad animation and art so often, especially not on important episodes.

If only Super was drawn like DBZ, then it would be really good and would actually feel like a continuation of DBZ. Too bad they will never change it back because now it looks "fleshy and new".

At least, if art/animation was consistent like in BoG and RoF, I would enjoy it a lot more.
Hopefully once Super gets dubbed and airs worldwide, Toei will have already polished more the bad art episodes.

Here's some example:

Was drawing Goku good this difficult? A deviantart user could do it, why couldn't Toei?

This is why I miss old art.
Why do people always compare Super's animation to that of a movie? (In this case, movie 12)

Comparing a still from a movie to a tv frame that will most likely be fixed for blu-ray. Because that quick frame from episode 5 is a perfectly accurate depiction of Super's art. How fair!

Now let me show you how easy it is to make a ridiculously biased comparison like that.

1995
2015
Then i finish it off with a "this is why i hate the old style"

And in fact my comparison is a lot more fair, because Uchiyama drew dozens of horrible episodes like that for Z and GT. So why use examples from a movie?

It's not just a quick frame. The whole scene looks bad in motion.

Your comparison is conjecture.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Regardless, I feel that the point Araki was making was that episode 5 of Super was an anomaly and yet people keep pointing to that specific episode and saying, "Look how bad Dragon Ball Super is as a whole!" Honestly, I get why some people prefer the old art to the new, but there's clearly an over exaggeration that many people seem to have regarding the animation of Super as a whole.

Personally, i find Super to be huge improvement over abomination, that was Kai (Mostly Buu saga, but Kai 1.0 had lots of problems too) yes, it has bad parts, and i find it more of a sequel to DBZ, than manga (Characters annoying parts expanded) but still, it is first true new DB series we have, since 1997. I love return of Toriyama humor i enjoy so much in Dr.Slump/DB

Sure, let's focus on that and ignore all my points because it's easier than actually counter them.

And my comparison wasn't, at all, worse than the one he did. Just an example to show how failed and ridiculous it was.

Oh geez and I thought episode 5 discussion was left behind...guess not.

I prefer the new animation over the old one, mainly in fights. I really like how fluid they're right now and even though we got some good animations back in DBZ(Goku SSJ2 vs Vegeta SSJ2) most of the time they were not that great.
English is not my main language. Sorry if I make a mistake.

The in-motion point is totally relevant to what you're getting since bad art is easily noticeable that way showing the lacking of quality control for the in-between animation especially considering it was during a key fight.

His comparison is definitely vague but the shots you got from the original series for at pretty minor scenes or are only noticeable if your trying to notice them. The first two aren't even that bad unless you hate Uchiyama's art style.

People be like ``Super have horrible animation/art,DBZ is far better`` *picks the best screenshot in dbz and compare it to the worst screenshot for Super* Most people actually ignored all the good shots that Araki posted and will just focus on the horrible ones just like how people ignore all the good things about Super/BOG/ROF and will just focus on the bad ones.So far,the inconsistent animation is my only problem for Super.

This isn't an appropriate way to carry on your end of the conversation. If you're not getting what you want out of someone in particular, perhaps just ignore them and continue the conversation with others.

That's not an excuse. One can easily use the same excuse you used to defend episode 5 or 9 of Super.

Dragon Ball Super Episode #5 doesn't actually reflect Tate Naoki like an Uchiyama Masayuki episode reflected Uchiyama Masayuki, though.

Dragon Ball had its fair share of bad animation and so does Super, the problem with Super is that the new art style is nowhere near as appealing as the old one even at its best. It's also 2015 so you expect some problems to be ironed out. But apparently Super is being even more cheaply produced than DBZ was.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

1. Not liking the art style is, of course, a matter of opinion. I think in terms of key frames, Super is less consistently off model from its own model (especially in the very uchiyama sense, of weird elongation/deformations), and I find that more appealing, even if we get a style that is not the same as early Dragon Ball.
2. Some problems: sure. Not having to deal with a limited color pallete and quicker shading. Easier time shading things they can use effects for like water. But it isn't like there is some massive development in simply drawing out a scene frame by frame that is different today as opposed to in 1995 or that they have solved problems like lack of animators and underpaid animators.
3. Well, it is more cheaply produced, and understandably so. DBZ was an incredibly popular weekday evening show, so it got more frames per episode and a budget to match. DBS just isn't and I don't think there is a market for that. Who is going to pay primetime prices/framerates for a Sunday morning cartoon?
