Dragon Ball characters that resemble other characters.

Post by The Iron Fjord » Sun Nov 01, 2015 9:10 pm

It can be real or fictional people from other franchises that resemble Dragon Ball characters in appearance/attitude/behavior.

e.x: Give Android 20 a rainbow-patched cloak, and he'd be a dead ringer for Thom Merrilin from the Wheel of Time series.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Mewtwo and Frieza, sort of:
Super Sonic is a clear homage to SSJs (SSJ Goku, specifically):
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

I still think Vegeta is one of several characters that led to the modern day tsundere character type. There was some poll a while back from some publication and he was the only male to make the top twenty tsunderes. (I don't recall what his rank # was, but it was in the middle somewhere.)

Edit: found it
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2 ... characters

Vegeta ranks 16. Just above Kurisu from Stein's Gate and just below Kagami from Lucky Star.
On hiatus.

Is it cheating too much to say Tsun Tsukutsun vs. Yamcha and God vs. Turtle Sage?

I totally came here to say Beelzebub's father in Sandland vs. Dabura.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

They're "Dragon Ball characters" that resemble "other characters", so it's a nice way to use the loophole :P

I've always seen a slight resemblance between Piccolo (both versions) and the Green Goblin from Spider-Man. Pointy ears, green skin, purple clothes? Check.
And just for the heck of it...

Villain? Check.
Died because something went through them? Check.
Had a son who became a second version who started out as a villain but became a hero? Check.
That son died when he tried to save a child? Check.
That son was brought back to life later? Check

I mean, there's the obvious Sergeant Metallic looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger, specifically his Terminator incarnation.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.
