That is why is called a Franchise. People will follow wherever direction it goes. DB is carried by the fans. Remember, it was the fans who brought the franchise back because of the reception of the movies not the other way around. And of course it's Dragon Ball. Even Evolution and GT with flaws and all are still Dragon Ball.

You do have a right to have an opinion but saying Super isn't DragonBall, it probably means you grew out of the franchise and moved on.
A lot of people got into this franchise because of DBZ. Nobody knew any of the characters, and none were properly introduced, yet the series became a major, major hit. Why? The tone from the start, the stakes, the adventure, and the action. Comedy was always in the picture, but the spectrum didn't lean towards it over drama, and its placement was much better. Even in the later half of DB (anime), this was the case.

I'm not saying Super literally isn't Dragon Ball because it's bad. I'm saying it's so far off from what the source material was like, it might as well not be; this is not anything like the series I fell in love with.

Well, Super sure is different but at least Toriyama and Toei are trying...it does have some flaws, but let's wait till the new Arc Begins and we'll see from there.

So, the show it's a success, the movies are a success, and the merchandise is selling and your best argument is: "Hey, let's take Toriyama off and remove Goku and the major characters from the show and see what happens?" it is compared to the Baby,Super 17&Shadow dragons arcs.

Those 3 is the only GT arc. The black star dragon is part of baby arc because the conclusion of black star dragon happened straight after the death of baby and the destruction of earth is caused by baby too .

You said Toriyama even worst, which is like saying "Take off Obama from the White House and see what happens"

Somehow, through sheer force of will, I guess, going by how difficult this seems to be for everyone else, I'm holding off judgment of the show until I've actually seen it, which will occur when it's available for me to watch legally. This has the added bonus of not having the loss of credibility and any kind of moral high ground obtained from bitching about a show that I've been pirating.

Until then, from what I've gathered from the Kanzenshuu summaries, the show so far has been nothing but extraneous filler (in every sense of the word), which is fine in and of itself (not having the massive, insane hatred for filler that seems to permeate much of this fanbase), but nothing I really put much stock into.

Most of GT stories where rehashes of other older stories. It's not like GT's story was original when it did rehash a lot of older things.

It's the best Dragon Ball series (in TV format) so far, with Kai 1.0 as a close second. I'm enjoying it very much, though my opinion may change completely (and it probably will) with the F arc.

The TV rating state otherwise. It's has almost 20% rating in its first episode. In my opinion it's better and more mature than their previous one.

Funny you ask me this when you can just look it up on the Kanzenshuu database.

GT had the average ratings of only 14.6%... that's drastically worse than the average of DB and DBZ. They all shared the same timeslot at Wednesday nights of 8:00 PM.

It has higher rating it mean it's good. Also it has very significant gap .
