I like the idea of it being a previous God of Destruction though. Maybe someone who Beerus defeated in order to claim the role for himself.

Maybe have it be that lizard that was the original design for Beerus.

Probably so, I honestly hope it's not a cat based character, Horus the falcon would be something unexpected if we were sticking to Ancient Egypt. It's more than likely going to be something we never saw coming. I could definitely see Anubis being the older brother of Beerus though.

Hopefully, I just really want it to be a character we've never seen before, Beerus was really cool when we finally got a new "Villain" design. I'd take Paikūhan though, I really liked his design and was always frustrated that he wasn't in the manga

I don't know if they will be Egyptian based, but if they were I'd go with Thoth or Khnum. Khnum would be cool because it might be interesting to see a bull-like character.

I think it's going to be the previous God of Destruction. Whoever it was that Beerus took the job from. It's never stated that Beerus beat someone for the job. The guy could have died or retired, I suppose, but Beerus could just as well fought him and won, taking up the mantle, so to speak.

Whoever he/she is, i'm hoping strength wise he's at least on par with 90% Beerus but considering how keen Toriyama has been on keeping the Beerus > everyone power gap as large as possible, i doubt he'll be any stronger than Golden Freeza

It wouldn't make much sense but it would be hilarious if Beerus was referring to the old Kaioshin. It won't happen, nor should it, but it would be funny.
