Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
How in Kami's name do you "collect" planets?
Did the Namekian's shave fragments from one of them, or did they actually find them all throughout the universe (wtf...)?
Will they have repercussions after usage?!
So many questions! If they end up being perfect in every way, I'll feel that's very lame. It would have been MUCH preferable if there were 12 Super Dragon Balls. One in each individual universe.

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

I'm also wondering how Jaco and Bulma are gonna bring the Super DBs since they are planet-sized. Unless Bulma manages to create a super-duper-hyper capsule-shrinker. She manages to 'capsule-ize' the whole West City in the DBO timeline, but seven planets will be more difficultfadeddreams5 wrote:How in Kami's name do you "collect" planets?

I'm guessing they took pieces from one of them. They're planet sized, a house-sized chunk would be more than sufficientfadeddreams5 wrote:How in Kami's name do you "collect" planets?

That would eliminate the potential all the other universes have. It would mean that if one arc is about the Super DBs, then they'd have to explore all 12 universes in that arc, and that's be incredibly rushed and boring. Plus, it wouldn't make sense considering the rules of how the universes work, namekians don't exist outside of universe 6 and 7.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Also, how did Kami know where these Super Dragonballs were, to apparently tear pieces off of for his set of Dragonballs? Methinks nobody needed to go to Namek if Planet sized Dragonballs are somewhere in the galaxy and all they needed to do was ask Kami where they were. Also, anyone else getting a GT vibe?
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Why would he need to find one? Can't the Namekians still have pieces left?FoolsGil wrote:Also, how did Kami know where these Super Dragonballs were, to apparently tear pieces off of for his set of Dragonballs? Kami never knew about Super dragon balls, what are you talking about?. It is only said that these are the original one, and is implied that namekians shaved those off and created their own sets using their special abilities.FoolsGil wrote:Also, how did Kami know where these Super Dragonballs were, to apparently tear pieces off of for his set of Dragonballs? If Kami didn't know about the Super Dragonballs, how did Earth get their own set of Dragonballs? Because apparently the Namekians don't make their own balls-how did Kami get his?Sodhi wrote:Kami never knew about Super dragon balls, what are you talking about?. Thes same way they created their own sets from pieces of super dragon balls. Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Whether they had pieces left over or not is not the real issue. Kami was an amnesiac Namekian sent to Earth. He had no idea who he was or where he was from, and only created the Dragon Balls due to a racial urge many years after he had already landed. Whether they were from Super Dragon Balls or Namekians, the question is where he got the pieces,...but I don't see him making trips into space either way.
The only solution I can come up with (maybe Toriyama's got something different, or just doesn't care about the continuity and will offer a new explanation...or none at all) is that Katattsu sent him to Earth with some shards and he later whittled them down because of that urge.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
When the Namekians broke down some pieces of the originals, they probably obtained the abilities to create they're own Dragon Balls. They should be able to create the balls from nothing, like they do with clothes. That's why the Namekian balls can only do stuff within the power of it's creator, while the Super Dragon Balls can do anything.
Random thought, what if instead of a Dragon appearing from the Super Dragon Balls, it's creator appears instead. The Supreme God of all of the Dragon Universe(s).

This is the best explanation, since we also have Dende saying he can create Dragon Balls from nothing, but it's quicker to use the already-existing ones.LightBing wrote:When the Namekians broke down some pieces of the originals, they probably obtained the abilities to create they're own Dragon Balls. Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm just glad that Tights is being properly introduced to the main Dragon Ball series, I hope she has more appearances.
I also wish that characters like Gine can somehow make their way into Super, I can't wait for the next chapter, when does it release?

What do you mean when you say "Saiyan Males have a type" ?FoolsGil wrote:Read newest chapter:

become relevant again

Vegeta says the reason Gokû likes Chi-Chi is because she's strong-willed in the way that saiyan females are (same with Bulma).supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:I'm just glad that Tights is being properly introduced to the main Dragon Ball series, I hope she has more appearances.

And at first I was all surprised because "OMG, actual GoChi moment?!" and then I remembered that Toriyama interview where Toriyama was all:
And then I kinda head-desked for a little while because it's not a GoChi moment in Chapter 6 in the romantic sense after all (even if it is a VegeBul moment). On the other hand, Goku might not have a sense of family members like Gohan and Chi-Chi except as one of his companions.
On hiatus.

Even more interesting she's well into her 50's and doesn't have a single winkle. She's not only nicer as a person but aged nicer as well.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:I'm just glad that Tights is being properly introduced to the main Dragon Ball series, I hope she has more appearances.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

How much is Akira Toriyama involved with the writing/drafting of the story and frames of Super's Manga?

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
The manga is based off the anime so I think he just does the drafts for the anime and Toie sends Toyotaro what they think should make it into the manga.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:How much is Akira Toriyama involved with the writing/drafting of the story and frames of Super's Manga?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Apparently they like combative women. Makes sense since they're a warrior race.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:What do you mean when you say "Saiyan Males have a type" ?
Dragonball Minus continues to make no sense.

Except for the fact that it was noted that Bardock and Gine's relationship was odd? Not to mention that we saw very little of Gine. For all we know, she may have been pretty spunky and strong-willed personality-wise (just not in the situation that we saw), while still not really being a fighter.TKA wrote:Apparently they like combative women. Or atleast based off the same notes. I'd assume the manga is closer to his notes tho (just basing it off of the BOG arc)sintzu wrote:The manga is based off the anime so I think he just does the drafts for the anime and Toie sends Toyotaro what they think should make it into the manga.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:How much is Akira Toriyama involved with the writing/drafting of the story and frames of Super's Manga?
