I stand by liking GT more. However people forget immediately how awful the first arc is. That one started off promising for me while rewatching, but then went to shit. Re: Biggest exageration by fans?
Most of GT was still pretty bad. The whole first arc in space and Super 17 sagas are terrible.
The only parts of GT that were decent was some of the Baby arc and the last one with the Shadow Dragons, and even then both had some real questionable writing decisions.

Re: Biggest exageration by fans?
I'll second what dbzfan7 said above, the first arc of GT, while derivative of DB is actually fun for me to watch. Super BoG has one worthwhile scene in its overloaded span of 14 episodes and that's Beerus explaining how Goku's power works now after becoming a God then "losing" it. Pretty much everything else from Super BoG can fuck off.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I thought that the Super 17 stuff was fun, if nothing else. Continuity was never really stressed in Dragon Ball anyway, so the contradictions don't particularly bother me all that much.

Even with continuity issues aside, it was painfully boring to sit through, even for a 7 episode mini-arc.

The first arc of GT is the true shitstorm.

Garlic Jr. Saga was Epic. I like a Z arc with no waiting for Goku to save the day. If he's gonna be gone for more then 80% of the arc, don't give him the spotlight or bother having him in it.

- GT hate, though I wouldn't mind the hate for the first saga, as it was terrible.
- Broly hate. I'm telling ya, the people who constantly hate Broly are no different from the Broly long shlong slurpers they bitch about.
- All the love for the new SSG form and Golden Frieza. I don't get them, they're simple and ugly as hell. Even though I like SSG now.
- Frieza saga being the best. I used to think that too until I realized that it used too many tropes.
- "Z should've ended at Frieza!". I completely disagree. I don't mind Goku dying in the end, but the way it was supposed to be done in Namek would've been too abrupt! If anything, it should've ended at Cell, cuz I consider it the "encore" saga where everyone fought side by side for one last time and Gohan finishing it.
- People making it seem that all of the characters made stupid decisions in the Android/Cell saga when there's only about a couple. Krillin and Gohan. Vegeta's letting Cell become perfect makes sense, cuz of his character.
- The series having "bad writing" as a whole. Even though I wish the series did have better writing, the constant comparison of this to Hunter X Hunter or Attack on Titan is annoying. It don't have to have the "best writing" to be enjoyable or good. If anything, if you wanna bash a saga for bad writing, go after the Buu saga.

That one is just so dumb and so bad it's down right funny at times. Just from the doctors saying 17 was always meant to be the ultimate android was enough to make me giggle at this official fanfiction. I'll say Super 17 plot wise is worse than Super that's for sure, but I'll take it's artstyle, music, and fight scenes over Super since I feel Super rarely ever has a good fight scene, making it far more boring.Doctor. wrote:Jesus man, even the Super 17 arc?dbzfan7 wrote:I stand by liking GT more. It's not a fan fiction, that's for unofficial media. It's canon to the anime,so what if it isn't manga canon.
The plot wasn't bad,the execution just left a lot to be desired, I mean it could have been much better Wasted potential, I love the arc but it could have been better. 17 being Gero's favorite to become the ultimate android isn't a bad thing, not at all.

I guess you can't take a joke huh? My "official fanfiction" comment is purely on the idea being so dumb that a couple of 17 fangirls probably came up with it. Of course it's official material, but I merely joke it's official fanfiction as it sounds like it. I use the same description to describe some of the new Freeza stuff too. I also would call Episode of Bardock to be official fan fiction as that's what it felt like to me.LSSJGODSSJ4Gogeta wrote:It's not a fan fiction, that's for unofficial media. It was a lamer fusion reborn. 17 being the ultimate android is absolutely stupid as that is what Cell was. Hence Cell was built to absorb 17 in the first place. It's totally silly for 17 to suddenly be the real ultimate android when his main purpose as far as Gero was concerned beyond killing Goku, was to be fed to Cell.

Cell might have been a backup if he could make 17>his plans for perfect cell.
Also because a lot of kids think shit like funimation made GT because the join the bandwagon of hate without even watching, its hard to tell if you were serious in thinking GT is a fan fiction,it seamed so stupid, didnt know it was just a joke. That's common with txt though haha.

Damn straight. that and one piece are the worst animes of all time IMO. I hate all the fans saying DBZ is crap and weak compared to em. I don't hate on people liking it,but the shows themselves I hate.
