He'll fail of course cause LOLGOHAN and probably curse himself for not being able to do anything to avenge Piccolo. Then he'll immediately forget about that once all is said and done to go back to his job doing..........er.......some dumb thing apparently because it's not important enough for us to know what that is.

All I'm saying is that this is being stated as the Complete Continuation of the story, and Toriyama is involved. And nothing in Super has been majorly relying on filler for use as a major plot point. So, honestly? Gregory? Satan's crew? That ONE LINE of dialouge from Bulma in episode 22 about, "That frog...", which by the way, doesn't specifically say anything other than that, do not reference anything filler related. Really, all of these are just easter eggs. And anyone complaining about these is really, honestly, truthfully, nitpicking to the fullest definition of the word.

I think you're misremembering things. Toriyama, when rewriting Kami to Kami, said he did it as if the manga had continued. Fukkatsu no F is the sequel, if you will. But these are the movies. For all we know, in Super, Toei used the scripts and did their own thing.

About filler elements of Z, I think you are mostly right. Both Gregory and Satan's disciples don't contradict the manga if they don't directly reference filler material. Granted, people wouldn't know who they were without seeing their filler scenes but their existence alone doesn't contradict anything. Bulma's line can be explained but it's kinda obvious it's referring to "that" filler...

They're not going to permanently kill off Piccolo. Even if we didn't know about the tournament, it's exactly the same thing that GT did. And one thing Super is trying to do is distance itself from GT.

And Piccolo has barely done anything this entire series. Killing him off now wouldn't be the best send-off to his character.

I'm not "twisting" anything. I love how the mods of this forum don't seem to mess with people here who are up in the thousands of posts, and I'm assuming that means y'all get special privileges, such as being incredibly rude and condescending to other forum members here, and yet nobody says anything to you guys. Funny how things work out that way.

Where are you getting this impression? If you think I'm being out of line then report my post, and if the moderators agree, they'll come down on me just as well as any newcomer. You should see their (completely justified) actions toward some of the users with the highest post counts.

Which is incredibly vague and open to interpretation. Toriyama's involvement has also been vaguely articulated at best. We know that Toriyama did a lot with Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. There is nothing that states that he did the same for the Super adaptations of them. Vague statements made to bridge a continuity between the core of the story and the new material say nothing of canon. Toriyama's involvement being plastered on something says nothing of canon, especially when we know little to nothing in regard to the exact details of his involvement. Again, I'm not concerned if one thing is canon and another thing isn't. It's simply a matter of us lacking nearly enough information to really say anything about it at this point, especially when the little information we do have is so open to interpretation.

This is the twisting I'm talking about. They do not necessarily reference them, sure. They could be just random new characters and events that just so happen to perfectly line up with well known filler characters and events. This is an entirely acceptable position to hold, I'm not trash talking anyone for holding that view.

However, compare that to "Super shares continuity with filler scenes from the Z anime". I've yet to see any attempt at adequately demonstrating this latter conclusion to be the weaker induction. And to reiterate again, it's perfectly fine with accepting the weaker induction. The sole thing I'm taking issue with is seeing the acceptance of the weaker induction being touted as the sole acceptable and reasonable position. That's what I extrapolated from your post. That's why I responded. If I misinterpreted, then I apologize.

Why is matching Kuririn's Death count bad? Piccolo is in good company.

Well Kuririn was view as the Kenny of South Park in the DB universe. I don't want them to kill off good guys if there is emotion. Piccolo's death in the Saiyan saga was so well done because you really felt the bond between Gohan and Piccolo. Krillin's death in DB and DBZ really work too because of the emotion impact on them. That's why I hated Kuririn's death in GT because it was so underwhelming. #18 show emotion to it, but did it felt weak compare to his death in DBZ in my opinion. Piccolo sacrifices himself to save Gohan from Freeza’s Death Beam in Super is just a poor rehash when Piccolo sacrifices himself to save Gohan from Nappa .

Most modern anime series change themes (OP, ED or OP & ED) after a cour; that's 13 weeks and 13 episodes. Not all series get the full 13 episodes for each cour, as there are occasionally breaks for holidays and the like.

Likewise, Super's second ED isn't actually lasting longer. Yes, it will technically be attached to one more episode than the first (and third as well), but that's because of breaks where the show didn't air (which is happening again when ED 3 should have started). The EDs are still changing every 13 weeks though.

Sounds like something I (and others I'm sure) have been theorizing based on the end of the episode/the next time preview might actually come true then - Gohan will temporarily tap into more of his old power (be it SS2, or 'Ultimate', or even just becoming more powerful in general), but his lack of training recently and/or his injured body will make it extremely unwieldy, perhaps even making him burn out faster than he otherwise should too.

With any luck, this might just be the 'respect' towards Gohan that people have been clamoring for, which even for someone like me who's fine with his dorky, nerdy, domestic lifestyle, would be pretty cool to see.

I'm not sure what part of Gohan temporarily regaining a portion of the power he should have had anyway is 'respect'.

It's more like just throwing the dog a bone... except the bone is one of the dog's ribs and you could have just left it in the ribcage where it was better appreciated.

Looking through YouTube, they've made some pretty cool songs! Can't say anything about their lyricism though since I don't speak Japanese. But their music is pretty rad. I'm definitely looking forward to the new ending along with their song "Light Pink/Crimson".
