Poor Jaco. The guy can't catch a break. Maybe he and Tights can totally hook up now though.
fadeddreams5 wrote:Ugh... why are they still including Pilaf? -.-
Because they're amusing characters? Though, even I'm curious as to why they're still included, what with Super getting rid of the Trunks/Mai thing. Seems a bit odd for them to still be around without that.
And Buu seems like he will never change back into a likable character.
And you're getting that from where exactly? He doesn't even have any lines in that chapter.

Mr.Toriyama speaking through Piccolo regarding fans expectations of him.

Loved the shiritori! It's sweet how Marron starts the game with "bald head", after all, bald Kuririn is a new sight for her.

...Oh yeah, it would be, wouldn't it. I didn't think about that. Okay, Toriyama/Toei. Just give me a bit where Marron is having way too much fun with her father's newly-bald head in adorable fashion, and I will fully forgive you for doing away with his hair.

So unless there's some mistake the Super DBs are 371 million kilometers in diameter which is over twice the distance between Earth and Sun lol. They're not just planetary-big, they're planetary-system-big lol

Me and Herms had already noted a discrepancy between the Japanese (371,962,204 km) size and the Korean size (37,196.2204 km) over on Twitter. But because we don't have a direct image of that panel in the original version of the chapter yet, we can't tell which is correct (if either).
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.

Ahh I see. I'm definitely thinking there's some error issues here, size of a solar system would a bit overdone IMO lol :P

And also:
Goku: “So, you’re the‘Grand Ponta’, huh? Sounds amazing! But...what exactly is a‘Ponta’, anyway?”
Monka: “It means nipples.”
Goku: “Huh?”
Monka: “They call me that because I have large nipples.”
Goku: “Oh…OK…Haha…”
Yeah let's just say Toriyama/Toyotaro/both are trying way too hard here with this pun here and this entire character

It does seem to me that it'd be much easier to accidentally leave out a decimal point than it would be to accidentally insert one that wasn't there to begin with. So I'm thinking the Korean scanslation's correct on this score. But again, can't confirm yet.

For now, I'll take out the commas in the number (in Japanese it's just a long string of digits, as is typical when writing large numbers in Arabic numerals in Japanese). Which doesn't actually solve anything, but makes me feel like I'm doing something.

Doesn't help that half of the world uses comma for decimal points while other half uses dot lol

Herms, is Monaca's 'Planet Wagashi' the same 'Planet Sweets' from chapter 6?

The Shiritori scene was wonderful and I loved Piccolo leaning on the fourth wall in regards to Monaca's appearance.

Comments about the chapter:

I found funny that Kame Sennin was the one who said panties and not Oolong in the Shiritori game :P
Also Chichi's "Dirty old man" goes for the Kame Sennin "panties" word
Poor galactic king, nobody notices him :P
Monaca is weird but whatever...
I like how the Super dragon balls are almost all in one place, it would be a shame if someone suddenly stole them
Beerus and Shampa interactions are great, I can't wait for more of them :D
Still I wonder what the written test is going to be about...

Theres a lot of things this arc has to answer... can't wait for more chapters

Thanks for the translation Herms :D

The manga is having so much fun with this. I really hope these interactions make it into the anime. Beerus, Whis and Jaco are being integrated into the main cast, and they feel completely at home.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

There is no planet in the universe with diameter 372 million kilometres. Even the sun is only 695 thousand km.

If the Dragonballs were THAT big (372 million) then even if they were hidden as planets they would be pretty distinguishable "planets" by their huge size alone - even bigger than the majority of stars (for the record the biggest recorded supergiant star in the universe has a diameter of 2.4 billion km but that is incredibly rare). Given that Champa was blowing random planets thinking they would hide Dragonballs inside them it makes far more sense the Super Dragonballs to be 37 thousand Km (i.e. around 3x bigger than the Earth's diameter but 3.7x smaller than Jupiter's) - after all he had already collected 6 dragonballs so if they were THAT big he would know what to look for (red supergiant stars instead of planets). Also given the context of Zunno knowing everything it would be more impressive for him to quote the diameter in 4 decimal figures.

Lol asking Buu to write a written test is like asking Oolong to kill Whis. But, if yellow bears plan on doing it, be my guest.

Wow! I knew the chapter would be much more enjoyable once it gets fully translated. That Shiritori game was fun.
This design utilizes refraction to ensure that the marks remain starfish-shaped no matter from which angle they are viewed.
I see. So that's why my home-made dragon balls never looked right.

And he does so by guessing.
Why I use "Geran" instead of "Jiren"
