Share your thoughts on Super as the year comes to a close.

I've consistently liked it over the past couple months. I don't take nitty gritty stuff too seriously, so it's been quite enjoyable. The animation hiccups, while sometimes distracting, can also be somewhat funny at times and okay (especially since I know they're being corrected for BD). Overall, I find it to be quite super.

The stars are lining up for another Star Wars prequel-like mediocre revival bound to disappoint many fans. Perhaps in another decade we'll get a revival that does things right just like The Force Awakens.

Super is already like the Force Awakens, its a mediocre retread of shit that was done better before (BoG) while not improving on stuff that desperately needed improvement (F). At least Super has enough people openly voicing their distaste for it where as TFA has everyone sucking its metaphorical balls even after making a thousand page list of all its flaws because its "like the classics!".

TFA and DBS aren't even in the same league.

The people that made TFA clearly loved Star Wars. While the movie borrows things from the original trilogy it also has really exciting new stuff. BB-8, Finn, Poe and Rey are fantastic new characters while Kylo Ren has more dept than even Darth Vader. Another great thing about TFA is the respect it has for the old characters. Han was definitely Han Solo (even more than he was in Jedi) and Chewie was more likeable than in any of the previous movies.

TFA made me love Star Wars again while DBS is making me lose interest in Dragon Ball. Considering how important DB is to me that's really sad.

To avoid derailing the thread with anymore SW stuff, here's what I'll say on the comparison: They're totally in the same league as far as I'm concerned, none of the new SW are close to Beerus in either appeal or depth, either making no sense or just being annoying while the rest is firmly the same as Super. Retreading old ground that's been done before and a lot better while improving on nothing with monkeys running everything in the background. Its easily the most blatant and loathsome example of brainless fanboy pandering I've ever seen with Resurrection F a close second.

What I liked about DBS so far:
-It showed more of Beerus's personality.
-Characters interactions in the first episode.
-The SSJ Hercule episode
-The scene with Pan and Piccolo was longer.

That's pretty much it. I don't think Super is necessarily bad just that it feels too...average I guess. It feels like a run-of-the-mill anime or show that you only watch once to pass the time and then never plan to watch again. I enjoyed BoG and watched it several times but I think I would have a hard time sitting through the BoG saga again. I hated RoF and it's one of my least favorite movies. In my opinion the RoF saga is the worst saga of any official Dragonball anime. This is coming from someone who absolutely hates GT and loves the Freeza saga. At least the RoF movie had good animation but I couldn't find anything redeemable about the saga.

I'm optimistic about the U6 saga. New characters and new universes so there could be a lot of nice surprises. I just hope the fight scenes have a little more effort put into them than earlier in Super. The animation doesn't even have to be that great just a little more than having them stand perfectly stiff and blast at each other.

Well I was disappointed that Toriyama didn't go and restart the entire manga with Toyotaro and Naho Ooishi as his assistant artists and instead chose to only do tie-ins, and I was annoyed that the anime couldn't start with Universe 6. But the manga chapters that did show up with the little specks of U6 information available, made me very happy and keeps me optimistic about the future

Re-telling the movies with worse animation and more stretched out was probably the worst idea they ever came up with.

I would have rathered 20 slice of life episodes of the characters fooling around, or more of Goku/Vegeta training with Whis than to see redundant stuff.

The manga is okay... but the anime is ass. It slapped me across the face and called me a retard.

That's how I insulted I felt by it and for a lot of reasons.

I like how people are complaining and crying about how "Vegeta is wearing a pink apron" BRO in dbz he was wearing PINK. Besides this character has grown he has changed, he's gone from being a cold blooded killer to a man that cares about his wife and family, a man that is willing to put down his own LIFE to protect his family and friends. Vegeta has changed over the years, who remember's the time when Vegeta would refuse to train with his own SON, and now he is training with his RIVAL. One thing I want to point out is, WE the Hardcore fans that nitpick everything are not enjoying it as much as the others (I'm one but I really enjoy super and Ill tell you why later), I have 2 friends that watch Super, one of them saw me watching the Cell vs Gohan fight on youtube and he was like Hook me up bro, so he watched ALL of dbz, and Battle of gods (by that time it was the latest movie), and now he is watching Dragon ball super and he loves it BECAUSE he is not a "hardcore fan" his main anime is Naruto, I see him getting mad and nitpicking stuff over there too but that's not the point he is loving super and I told him a bit of whats going to happen in the next arc and he is so hyped about it. And the other friend has not watched Dragon ball z, he saw me watching episode 14 of super and he asked me about it, So I told him to start with episode 1, because Dragon ball super has a good start and it introduces the characters well. and so he caught up With super and HE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE's it, then I told him to watch DBZ from the android saga and he basically loves Super and can't stop talking about the new arc. So I thought about those two and I'm like they love it so much because when they are watching they don't overthink everything like me like US actually, so I started to watch Super just like them, I watched super to ENJOY IT, I'm not saying IGNORE the flaws, but don't get to bothered by it. sorry for the long comment

Fraxiel, get your friend to watch the original Dragon Ball too. He will adore it! Then maybe even have him watch GT, so he could formhis own opinion of it, not the popular one or your one. He seemes to love the series, so he is missing out!

Anime is shit and is piss poor fucking gt had better animation than this the manga however is pretty good the only hope for super is that u6 arc animation wil be top notch hopefully.
