Beerus being also the reason for Dinosaurs "extinction" is stupid, because DB had dinosaurs since the beginning. One even appears in BOG Movie...
I can come up with some answers to that, but just feels like a pointless coment.
Funny enough in Dr. Slump, Dinosaurs were extinct but aralle went back in time and punched the meteor away

I think it's an attempt to make the universe bigger, that ultimately ends up making it smaller.

I should probably hate it, but i like it. I like it when its all convinient and connected, Beerus is this important guy that did all those things, but he was sleeping so he didnt appear in 39 years.

This is literally exactly why I hate it.

A far more masterful way of handling this was the revelation of Namekians creating the dragon balls and Piccolo's ties to the crux of the entire previous series.
There was extensive time and lore spend on this which helped you realize that without Piccolo, none of the core of dragonball would even exist.

Beerus's comments are literally a side comment to explain an entire section of lore.

Completely agree

Kind of makes Bardock's stand against Freeza even more depressing in the special: Even the Gods wanted you and your race dead.

Wow. I never thought about it that way but that's... actually really fucking sad. And that just makes watching the FOG TV special even harsher in hindsight.

I wonder if any of them hold a grudge against Beerus in the under/otherworld? I mean if any of them knew the truth that is. I'd be really upset if myself and my race was killed off in vain yet he lets 2 of my race live and even becomes friends with them. WHAT?!
I probably just added to the sadness...

eh, I don't have a problem with it.

I don't know if og funimation dub vegeta instilled some romanticized view of the saiyans to the fanbase or what, but people tend to forget that the saiyans were like, the worst species in the galaxy. NOBODY liked them. They were savage, blood thirsty elitist assholes that shipped their children off to fend for themselves. Goku feeling no connection to his heritage and vegeta slowly moving away from the attitudes he used to have are GOOD things. Makes sense for Beerus, who has destroyed planets for far smaller offenses, to give the go ahead to '86 the jerks.

My dislike for it has nothing to do with a romanticized view of the Saiyans. I dislike the "revelation" because apart from the fact that it's a pointless retcon, it also completely undermines Freeza's fear of the Super Saiyan legend, and his hatred for the Saiyans in general. Not to mention that it feels like yet another attempt from the writers of tying Beerus into everyone's backstory.

Freeza can still hate the saiyans and be scared of super saiyans. Beerus is just icing on the cake, they both want them gone.

The Freeze on Namek arc hates Goku so much to attack him to the shoulders espite he had just spared, only because he dared to exceed his strength.
The Freeza of FnF has never been the strongest and, to destroy planets, had to ask permission to Beerus.
This has compromised the original figure of Freeza, to my, and not a little.

Why does he need Beerus to tell him what to do? It completely undermines Freeza's arrogance and his perceived position as the strongest being in the universe if he has to take orders from someone else.

I'm honestly starting to get sick of Beerus as a character. He was fine at first, but it really seems like Toriyama and Toei are really trying to hammer in the fact that he's this important God of Destruction. It feels like they're essentially trying to make him the centerpiece of the whole franchise. He's the one who convinced Freeza to kill the Saiyans, he's the reason King Kai's planet is so small, he's the one who sealed the elder Supreme Kai in the Z-Sword. It's just too much. Also, his whole food obsession is really starting to get old.

You can be against everything that a villain stands for and still be sympathetic. Genocide is bad news, no matter who it happens to.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

It's possible that Dinosaurs exist in the DB world now today because humans recreated them similar to Jurassic Park. No one seems to talk about that idea on why Dinosaurs still exist in the DB world despite Beerus killing them.

I actually liked him making King Kai's planet small, it adds to the lore in a good way. I can also see him sealing the Elder too. Both of them having an argument about a planet Beerus plans to destroy, with Beerus stubborn attitude leading to him sealing the Kai. It's great because it emphasises how Beerus doesn't allow moral dilemmas to hinder his work.
