A lot of Toriyama's characters resemble each other. He's an excellent character-designer, but, especially with his stylized artwork, his humanoid characters can blur together.
And that's when he's not re-using exact designs between series.
So, yes, sometimes Gohan looks like Yamcha. They both also look like a lot of other Toriyama characters.
How do you feel about this Gohan/Yamcha look similar fad?

In dragon ball most of the characters eyes are equal (Human and Saiyans, eyes between girls, and now Cabbe's eyes with 18 and 17's eyes thats a change from the typical saiyan eyes

It's not, like, a good thing. (It is, if anything, a possible weakness as an artist, but he's such a stellar character-designer in most ways that I find it hard to really condemn.) In Dragonball Yamcha had circular eyes and he looked very distinct. Then when DBZ started they gave him the same Saiyan eyes that every character has so that could be a reason.
Compared Yamcha's eyes in Dragonball to DBZ, and you see a clear difference. I wonder what it would be like if he kept his "circle eyes" instead of having the generic Saiyan eye style.

Or maybe Yamcha always looked too much like a Saiyan in the first place so its no surprise Gohan looks similar.
