Why does Videl look so flat-chested at the tournament? Because naturally she's wearing a sports bra, which compresses. It seems like the kind of bra she'd probably be more likely to wear in general anyway, as she's extremely athletic and doesn't need her boobs to get in the way. Some bras have no lining. Some are lightly lined. Some have underwire. Others don't. And then there are push-up bras, many, many different kinds of push-up bras all that have different amounts of padding. Second, I'm actually very glad that Dragon Ball never went down the "breast larger than their head" trope that has plagued modern shonen manga and anime. I've always appreciated Toriyama giving his female characters mostly down-to-earth body proportions. I mean, don't me wrong, I see the appeal of large sized breasts, but I just don't see the appeal of comically large sized breasts. I mean, look at the image of Bulma from EP 29 of Super I posted above. What happened to her bust? Why did she suddenly grow several sizes? Is she hiding the last Super Dragon Ball down there or something?
