Episode 34 already screwed Frost over. Not much else FUNimation can do in that department, besides give him the voice of a chain-smoking grandma who hits on Goku.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Right now, they're in a place where they actually DO want to be as accurate as possible...but that still doesn't change the ever-present reality that they need to make money. And they're not going to make money by alienating the people who grew up watching their dub (regardless of how flawed it was). Heck, they're already having ENOUGH of a problem with that as it is, considering how many people STILL think that the Nicktoons dub is the dub that they're going to be getting if they buy the uncut DVD's. They're still yelling stuff like "WHERE'S THE FAULCONER SCORE?!" or "where's all the blood and guts?", and various things like that.
Yes. But when Funi says "We want to make this as perfect as it can be", they're not going to hire Falconer to make a new score and then go "Well we wanted to make it perfect, and to many people a perfect Dragonball dub has music by that guy, so we brought him in."

"A perfect dub" obviously means "a dub that's true to the original" here. That's what it means to everyone except people with nostalgic fondness for specific changes in specific dubs that they'd consider "perfect in every shape and form" no matter what they did, because their nostalgia for the specific products they watched is too strong.
"As perfect as can be" Funimation are not saying 'this will be so fucking accurate that the dub actors will be saying there lines in Japanese!" They're simply saying there trying to keep everything as accurate as possible while still pleasing both parties. They don't do "hope of the universe" and "cat loves food" any more; if "Hyperbolic Time Chamber" and "Krillin" are the biggest complaints nowadays, there really is nothing to complain about.

Some part of me wonders how many people come here just to rag on FUNimation like it's 1999. I think we have a new consensus these days.

He'll obviously take the stage playing a digitally added guitar pumping "Rock the Dragon" -- his dialogue altered to sing the lyrics -- then place a flower over Gohan's penis and erase an apple tree.

He'll then comment on the Super Dragon Balls, saying how much he'd like to caress them.

Like many have already pointed out, I don't think FUNimation will make name changes like that anymore. At most they will keep using the names they have already changed to keep things the same with past dubs. Like Krillin spelling, Giving Mr. Satan a first name, etc. In the uncut version of Z and GT they always used Mr. Satan over the English name so unless you can only watch it on TV it's not much of a problem to me.

I think they will keep him Frost but I don't think they will use the same voice actor. I think they might pick someone else who can come across as a good guy and not sound threatening but who can be threatening as well. To be honest most people got their first taste of DBZ from those really bad FUNimation dubs in the late 90s and I don't blame you. But from what I read the Kai dub was pretty good so I see no reason why they wont keep things as perfect as they can when they start doing Super in say a year from now or something.

I could DEFINITELY see that. Freeza's actual japanese name is "フリーザ". Translate that directly, and you get "Furiiza", with two different I's in there. Romanization errors like that were very common back in the day. For example, in a game called "The 7th Saga", there was a scientist named "Dr. ファイル". Translate that katakana, and you get "Fai-Ru". In Japanese, that's supposed to be pronounced "FYE-RU", as in "Computer File". That would make the guy's name "Dr. File", which was fitting because he was a scientist.

Yet, when the game got localized in the West...

:problem:
Don't know whether to laugh at that or be horrified at the bad romanization.

I think they'll stick to the original version now. As others have said, it's 2016, not 1999.
