Both were pretty underwhelming. Nothing more than Vegeta kicking around an already weakened Freeza for a minute and a half before getting taken out like a chump. let's see if the third time's the charm with Vegeta vs. Frost because lets be honest, it's gonna be the same damn fight... Here's hoping they do something interesting with it.Lord Beerus wrote:Compared to their battle in Resurrection F, it really did suck.SSJ3 Vegeta wrote:I don't really think SSjB Vegeta vs. Golden Freeza in Super sucked in any way.Lord Beerus wrote:Pretty much all the battles in Super and GT.

Re: Most underwhelmingly executed fights
I never got this. Were people really expecting Gohan and Cell to have a more equal fight the way Goku and Cell had? Even so, Gohan's famous 2 hit KO is pretty enjoyable to watch/read.MajinMan wrote:I'm going to be that one guy and say Gohan vs Cell. What a non-fight that was.
Re: Most underwhelmingly executed fights
Well some people I suppose wanted a closer bout, but never got one. For some stomp fights are boring. Though I didn't see 19 vs Vegeta on anyone's list. I think it was a missed opportunity the manga never at least had Gohan vs Super Perfect Cell. Though I suppose that coulda dragged for too long if they did it.LuckyCat wrote:I never got this. Re: Most underwhelmingly executed fights
You know, the funny thing is, I re-watched Resurrection F yesterday and while I originally thought that the Super version of the SSJB Vegeta/Golden Freeza beat-down was better than the movie version, I thought the beat-down went on for a bit too long, and I actually came to appreciate the Resurrection F version of the "battle" for being as short as it was because it emphasised just how much Golden Freeza, at that point, was beneath Vegeta and how it didn't take much effort for Vegeta to kick his ass.sintzu wrote:I think you're the 1st person I've seen say the movie's battle was better.

Sometimes less is more, especially when it comes to one sided fights. I just really like the more subtle approach of the beat-down that Golden Freeza got from SSJB Vegeta in Resurrection F, than the extended stomp that happened in Super.sintzu wrote:That's a good point, I never looked at it that way.Lord Beerus wrote:I actually came to appreciate the Resurrection F version of the "battle" for being as short as it was because it emphasised just how much Golden Freeza, at that point, was beneath Vegeta and how it didn't take much effort for Vegeta to kick his ass.

I'd agree if it was someone else but Freeza really deserved the stomping he got in Super, the beating he got in the movie to me didn't feel as painful as it should've but I can see why you think it was better.
The one thing they both got right is the shot of Freeza bowing before his king.

But Whis reversed it so one of the last things Freeza saw before going back to hell was Vegeta standing over him like a king.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Right before he blew him up, but why let minor details get in the way of blatant fanyboyism?
It could've been worse though, I was watching an episode from some anime and this character who has a very similar name to yours finally got to do something after so long only for him to get pushed aside for someone who's been getting non stop screen time.
So although Vegeta didn't get everything I wanted him to, I can appreciate what he did get cause I now know it could've been a lot worse.

Yup. Same thing happened to Piccolo. It was hardly a crowning moment of glory, was it?sintzu wrote:But Whis reversed it so one of the last things Freeza saw before going back to hell was Vegeta standing over him like a king.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Right before he blew him up, but why let minor details get in the way of blatant fanyboyism?

But at least Piccolo didn't need the help of Deus ex machina to stay alive, nor for Goku to literally pop out of thin air to save his life.

Both from a series and fan standpoint. This happened again with Piccolo in Super. Debatable who came out brighter without including screen time, but both results had the same lasting effect.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Yup. Same thing happened to Piccolo. It's not "exactly" the same. Vegeta basically got Darth Maul'd. Piccolo was just told to go sit down.
Neither are anything to brag about.

I mean more from a fan stand point I suppose, cause a couple people are so adamant that Piccolo was indeed awesome and is a big shot, that they despise anyone who has a view against theirs. There is no in between speculation. Agree or you're wrong. It's the same thing I saw with Vegeta where people try and twist and turn the big negative, to salvage some positive. Heck it rages on as of this post.Kamiccolo9 wrote:It's not "exactly" the same. Vegeta basically got Darth Maul'd. Piccolo was just told to go sit down.

I wouldn't call this super underwhelming but I'm not crazy about most of SSJ Goku vs Freeza on Namek. I think the first stage of the battle from Goku arriving to his transformation is a lot better until Freeza brings out his Kienstructo Disks make it more interesting again.

When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I think it's widely known now that Piccolo's probably always gonna get the short end of the stick. It's a fact that's been prevalent since the Buu Saga.Kamiccolo9 wrote:It's not "exactly" the same. Vegeta basically got Darth Maul'd. Piccolo was just told to go sit down.

Rage transformation! Gohan so strong Cell can't do anything! Gohan letting Cell have a chance anyway! Beam struggle! The end.
There was no actual fight basically.

Re: Most underwhelmingly executed fights
For me it was Gohan vs Buutenks. I know Buutenks is suppose to be stronger than Gohan, but that fight made Gohan look like an amateur. Gohan tried to block Buutenk's Makankosappo and constantly falls for his taunts. At that point just wanted Gohan to survive until the fusion wears out.
