The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
The Kanzenban Spanish manga is horrible. They shortened, simplified almost all the dialogues and it's not accurate at all. I want a place to read Dragon Ball with translations as accurate as Herms... I can even pay for that.
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
@Herms, don't you want to translate the entire manga so we can read it with more accuracy than aything? Please lol.
I even bought all the volumes of the manga, but their translations diverges of yours. I want as accuracy as possible.

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Kanzenshuu is not a piracy vehicle and cannot/will not be responsible for reproducing the entirety of a translation that is legally licensed by a company in our own country. These selections are pushing it, as it is.
Furthermore, an actual translation of the manga by Jake (or Julian, too, for that matter) would not read anything like what you see in the "Strength Checker". It's literal and pedantic to an absurd degree, and reads nothing like what the rest of our translation work actually reads like.
As we've described before, Viz's translation is perfectly fine if you want to read the manga just to be able to read the manga. It's only no longer serviceable if you want to debate verb conjugation in strength comparisons.

Can someone translate this please?

Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
I can even pay for the manga translated by him (Herms), if this is legal. I just want a translation that follows the original Japanese translation as much as possible. I want accuracy.VegettoEX wrote:Kanzenshuu is not a piracy vehicle and cannot/will not be responsible for reproducing the entirety of a translation that is legally licensed by a company in our own country. My interest in Dragon Ball is not discussing the cool aspects of the series, it's just about power levels debate. Precisely for this reason, I need to have literal translations. Cannot you help me?
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
He just explained that it's not legal for Herms to sell translations. The requests here are already over 5 pages. You could learn Japanese if it's that important. I'm sure Herms would agree to that being the best alternative. Learning a language can be really fun also !
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Actually, Herms couldn't even publish a translation of that caliber without buying the rights over japanese manga's content. That belongs to Viz in the U.S.
If you have doubts on the matter, read U.S. copyright law, specially Chapters 1 and 5.
By the way, it will only be a issue if the legal owners decide that work infringes their content and ask to take the translation offline, so it's perfectly fine to not translate the entirity of it.

I can see Herms refusing this out of principle, regardless of the legality of the thing.ahill1 wrote:

I barely know English, how do you expect me learning Japanese? lol. But I can try, I really think is fun learning a new language.
How do I get the Japanese translations?
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
Learn Japanese is 2,000,000 times harder than learn English. Period. Really, i learned the basics about English in 30 minutes when i was 13 years old(i'm not a native english speaker) so it's really, really easy.
But Japanese..I'm really trying to get through the basics, but it's hard.

The text itself is something along the lines of:Grimlock wrote:Can someone translate this please?
However, Herms indicated that the overall layout and everything else about it isn't correct, and it's later been proven to be an edited and altered version of this (it's missing the Tori-bot and the majority of the text is different in the original image vs the edited one you posted)."Gogeta vs Vegetto.
By making their hearts one, fusion allows them to reach the very heights of power. So, if the battle is one that can be decided in a short 30 minutes, than Gogeta wins. If it's a longer battle, then Vegetto will definitely be the victor!"

@Herms
Could you explain me something, please?
Gohan's line about Future Trunks' ki ("is the same ki as dad"!) doesn't necessarily indicate that Trunks has the same strength as Goku in Namek, right?

Chapter: 331 (DBZ 137), P13.3
Gohan: “It’s fa-father!!! It’s the same ki as father back then!!”
Note: Gohan says it’s the ‘same ki’ (onaji ki), rather than the ‘same amount of ki’ (onaji gurai no ki).
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
I already knew about this. But I wanted to know his opinion on the matter.
Does this indicate Goku and Trunks are equal or near in strength? Or this doesn't need to indicate that?
IIRC, when Goku was trying to find a new Namek, he said he should find people with the same ki as Piccolo, but the word used was similar rather than same, I think.

Does the Movie 03 pamphlet really say that Piano's battle power is 180? Or did the DB Wiki just make that up?

Well, it's a bit hard sometimes, but at least it doesn't have the bonkers English spelling and plurals.
Fish -> Fish
Goose -> Geese
Mouse -> Mice
Crow -> Murder
Lead pronounced "led" or "leed"
Read pronounced "Reed" or "Red"
Re: The All-Purpose "Translation Request" Thread
The plural of crow is crows. If you see a group of crows it's called a murder. Similarly if you see a group of geese it's called a gaggle.RedRibbonSoldier#42 wrote:2 million is a bit muchAsh57 wrote:Learn Japanese is 2,000,000 times harder than learn English. Period. Someone could answer my question? Herms? Does Gohan's line show Goku=Trunks or they are close in strength? I must know it, please.
