I'm certainly happy about that, I hated all of the CG fighting segments in Ressurection 'F'.JulieYBM wrote:It could be that the series director didn't want to use CG. Dragon Ball Super has had very little CG itself, after all.

I wonder if after this ends world trigger would come back or toei would do a new series altogether.coola wrote:http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20 ... gs/.100305 13 episodes confirmed, so..they will animate Infinity arc for now..maybe it is for better? Crystal's going to air at night. World Trigger airs in the early morning. I don't know if Toei would want to air a kids' series at night. Maybe they will and just make it more serious?

Ootsuka Ken has finished layouts for Episode #39 of a certain work. After that practice drawing of Gokuu and the fact that the episode is coming up soon I'm pretty sure he is working on key animation for Dragon Ball Super Episode #39.

Yeah, that's almost definitely Dragon Ball Super. It's the only show that he's worked on lately that's even remotely close to that episode number."Finished the layout for Ep 39 of That Show.
Mr. Producer, come collect it (^o^)
I wonder if he'll see this?"

Outside of the new intro cuts, we haven't seen him since episode 5, have we?

Can't wait! I hope he got enough time to make a really good cut or two. Goku vs. Hit just might be good.JulieYBM wrote:Ootsuka Ken has finished layouts for Episode #39 of a certain work. Quick question, since this episode won't air for 3 weeks is finishing layouts at this point good or bad? I have no idea when that comes in the process or exactly what it entails either.JulieYBM wrote:Ootsuka Ken has finished layouts for Episode #39 of a certain work. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Animation Staff Discussion
It's pretty not-good. It means he either has a very small number of cuts or he'll be having to work fast. The average key animator can finish two cuts a day but if Ootsuka is doing action cuts then he'll need to either work fast or only do one cut a day to ensure quality. It's not impossible for him to work on the episode until the very day before it airs, though.ArchedThunder wrote:Quick question, since this episode won't air for 3 weeks is finishing layouts at this point good or bad? So does animation come right after the layout phase then? What exactly is the layout phase?JulieYBM wrote:

Also anyone who can translate, what does he say exactly? Google translate gave me this
Finished layout of the 39 episodes of a certain work .
Please to production 's recovery (^ o ^)
I wonder if looking at ?
Is he actually saying something about the production recovering and then giving a happy emoji?

The layout phase determines how each shot will look. It details the backgrounds, the camera movement, and all that fun stuff.

So it comes between storyboard and animation then?Ajay wrote:I posted the translation in my reply above.ArchedThunder wrote: Also anyone who can translate, what does he say exactly? Google translate gave me this

Yeah, it's like the alpha animation phase. The cuts are given to the animators, and they start drawing out layouts for how their cut will look based on the storyboard.ArchedThunder wrote:So it comes between storyboard and animation then?
The Kanzenshuu Animation Process Guide details it better.

It seems there was CG in this episode after all. Magettas magma when it turned solid and broke seemed CG. and also after the barrier broke there was a brief moment of CG with the shards that looked stunning. Best use of CG i've seen in a while.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

-Episode 36-
This episode is full of awesome close ups shots and the animation/art overall was great. I was surprised with the use CGI but it was brilliantly done too.
Props too all the staff behind this one. Great job!

I have noticed since the last 2 or 3 episodes recaps have gone longer. Now all they need is long powerups to somewhat help the production

Did they?! I didn't notice it.
If it helps them then its okay, as long as we don't get One Piece intro + recap length.

I haven't noticed the length increase either, but I think that's due to the way it's airing once a week. If I was marathoning it I would've noticed faster.
