I am more interested in the fact that Toriyama-san once more shows people he has no problem with other people writing stories for Dragon Ball.

It was one of the more interesting interviews in my opinion.

I never really cared that much about Trunks as a character, so I don't really have much of an opinion on this. If it is him, I just hope that they try to fit it in without making it seem too fan-fictiony.

He was one of my favorite characters, untill i realised that he's pure fan-fiction and that he appears in only 1 arc. But still, it should be fun if he returns.

A big reason as to why Trunks is popular is because he basically created the model of the generic fanfiction character: the son of two characters who never had any romantic involvement, with a tragic past and is inexplicably powerful .

Like pointed out, there's no "white hair" anywhere and I'm pretty sure Toriyama means Freeza because it's in the context of coming up with the color blue for Fukkatsu no F. Besides, despite it making no sense he'd think about an enemy further down the line when he had to worry about the movie at hand, Toriyama doesn't plan that far ahead. He didn't even know what story to tell when they told him they wanted a second movie.

What do you mean? Toyotaro asks Toriyama why he chose blue hair, and Toriyama said he was going to make it white but he's saving it for later:

Future Trunks coming back into the series would be very fanservice-y and could easily go really badly, but I'll put my faith in them and see how it goes anyway. It might not even be him, but another character entirely instead. There are options, though I can't really think of any... maybe Uub? My guess right now is Future (or Xeno) Trunks, though.

...can't they at least have Future Trunks meet baby/kid Bulla? It'd be cool considering that he's not even close to having a little sister in his own timeline, and she was referred to as "Trunks' little sister" (http://www.kanzenshuu.com/guides/manga/ ... png?8b837c)...
If they do that they're almost animating my fanfic for me! I could start making a list of things I've written before Super has! Amazing.

The character is supposed to have been a popular character and I don't think that term has ever applied to Uub, given he hardly any notable moments, even in GT.

Very interesting indeed.. it gives us a further hint, that the anime adaptation Toriyama was unhappy with, as stated in the Super History book, was indeed Super and not Kai last year. And it does seem like he's more appreciative of Toyotaro's work, than Toei's and of course Toyotaro is so humble about it, haha.
It's just great that this interview has confirmed some of my suspicions regarding Toriyama's outlook on the anime and Toyotaro's manga, too bad the anime is far ahead of the manga now, though!

He seems like a really nice and likable guy too. He deserves it after creating that fan manga which proved his talent. I really loved this interview. It definitely brought the hype!!

I will be okay with Future Trunks returning if it's not bad fan service and has a original story. So no more cyborgs, Cell, Buu or Towa & Mira.

Seeing how Toyble had his own post-GT story he maybe is even interested in writing something about that as well. But we will see.

I found his AF manga to be awful. It has good art and the Dragon world was cool, but everything else is crap in my opinion. Xicor himself is very dull since he has almost no personality and the idea of the West Kaioshin being the mother of Freeza seems stupid. I think fans would hate his AF if it was a real thing.

I am not talking about the writing of his post-GT manga but the overall position of Toyble as he multiple times in his manga showed no problem to include things that fans rant about all the time just because they seem inconsistent and instead was able to write or bring in what he wanted. And I know a very popular Western doujinshi about Dragon Ball that really only has good art but is so full of itself - totally unjustified.

Yeah, as long as he's good at replicating Toriyama's style, it's all that matters. Also I'm sure he's grown a lot over the last decade and working with Toriyama.
