Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.
I haven't seen any evidence supporting they are in a relationship nor do I find anything within their interactions suggesting they're romantically involved. Some people just love to ship.
People ship literally everything. Hetero, Homo, Transgender, Trans-Species, Elderly, Children, Toddlers, you name it, it exists. People are weird.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

They come off more like how a pet (more specifically a cat) and its owner would act if the cat was able to talk, or as I've said before, the spoiled child of a rich family and the nanny hired to take care of them. Their bickering isn't anything like that of a married couple, but what you'd expect from a brat who gets what he wants most all the time, and the nanny needing to put up with his nonsense out of obligation to.

According to them Whis HAS to be gay just because he has feminine features. Talk about a stereotype.
I agree that it's a dumb generalization, but I don't think that it necessarily constitutes homophobia, subtle or otherwise.
Yes it does. Whis looks feminine so people automatically assume he must be gay. Had Whis looked any different, nobody would have said such a thing.
For example Supreme Kaioshin and Kibito were both introduced as a pair similar to Beerus/Whis, but nobody says anything about Kibito being "gay" for the Kai because he doesn't have a feminine design.
Beerus and Whis' relationship kinda reminds of a well trained and experienced bodyguard looking after, and sometimes also scolding, a powerful, spoiled rich kid. Pretty much like John Diggle and Oliver Queen' relationship from Arrow.

Yes it does.
I don't see how. All you've done is further explain why it's a stupid generalization, not why it's necessarily homophobic. Then again, words like that don't seem to have a stable/uniform definition that everyone uses (at least, much less of one than most words).
I don't think I've ever seen any speculation that Beerus and Whis might be a couple before this thread...
That said, I haven't exactly been going out looking for it... but not stumbling across the idea purely by accident says to me that it's not that common.

Ask Lord Beerus himself... hell he's in this very thread as we type.
Hope you're not uncomfortable about us talking about your junkmail, Beerus-sama.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.
I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
I haven't seen any speculation about them. I've seen people ship them, but I haven't seen anyone theorizing on if it's a stealth-canon ship or not. It's possible it's happening in places I just haven't seen. (Also Beerus is asleep for decades at a time; that would make Whis one of the most patient people in the entire cast if true.)
What would you call it? WhiBee? BeeWhi? Depends I guess.

I can see why people might think they're a couple - they definitely have an 'old married couple' vibe going on with their interactions, it honestly has far more shades of that than it does 'master and student', which is part of what makes them such great comedic foil for each other - but I dunno that I'd ever actually say for certain that they're a couple or not, without actual confirmation which, let's face it, is not gonna be coming any time soon. Or likely ever. And as has already been said, Whis' mannerisms are absolutely not a clear indicator for sure that a character is gay. The only indicator of that is...well, actually being a gay person/character.
So basically, I don't really think they're a couple, but I can definitely see where the jokes come from. I'd argue there's more there to analyze than there is the 'classic' Tenshinan/Chiaotzu relationship.
