The problem is that most of the time these people don't have any idea.
When you back up those comparisons with arguments and when you know what to point out they're pretty valid. Posting them just because "hehe Super sucks" can get repetitive, yeah.
The fact that people wanted a new series doesn't mean that we must swallow every thing that Toei throw at us.FortuneSSJ wrote: I just ignore these comparisons, because their purpose is obvious. Nothing good comes from being stuck in the past.
People were begging so long for a new Dragon Ball series, they finally have it. Now time to bitch about it.
Yeah, it's brand new content, but it's quality lefts too much to be desire because Toei's poor decisions. It's not being stuck in the past, it's just that when you compare it to it's predecessor you can crearly note points that were superior 20 years ago.
Modern, weekly anime can look good. In fact, yesterday's Naruto episode was AMAZING, better than anything in Super so far and I'd go lenghts to say that in some scenes it was movie quality. That's what happens when you have talented staff and when you give them time and freedom to work (that episode was being made since january)
Crying and complaining is pointless, yeah, but it is healthy for the community to have different opinions, as long as you do it in a respectful and knowledgeable way than can enrich the conversation. Majority of the people that complains -like me- do so because they genuinely enjoy Dragon Ball and would like it to shine with a new light.
