Because Baby doesn't show up until Episode 22. I say Black Star Dragon Ball Arc and then Baby Arc.
But there's no climax to that story. It flows right into the Baby arc pretty damn quick. Sure, it's a long beginning, but the Parapara brothers steal the Dragon Ball for the cult of Luud which is ultimately controlled by Dr. Myuu who was created by Baby. Think of arcs in terms of the climax of a story. We may not see the villain who is behind it all until halfway through, but that's because it's a mystery. There's no absolute rule that says when you have to introduce the main antagonist in a story.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

I suppose, but then we'd need a different name for it.
Baby arc is fine, even Giru is connected to Machine Mutants who are created by Myu who is created by Baby and he appears in ep 3.

I see your point, ABED, although calling the first two episodes "Baby Arc" still doesn't sound right.

Anyway, I do agree with you.

My favorite arc was Vegeta's followed closely by Piccolo's then Tenshinhan's. Gohan's could've been executed better and no he didn't need to be the hero of the story for his arc to be complete. Goku doesn't have much of an arc. He's pretty much the same guy from beginning to end, just older and a little less naïve, and I'm more than fine with that.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Gohan is ruined in this new stuff.

If the Commeson arc gets its own section, I think the ones I added in bold should as well, if only for consistency's sake.

What do you consider Kuririn's arc to be?

Lol, i realised that i fucked up after i wrote that, BUT i still liked that Kuririn had nice, well deserved closure in final, 10th manga arc. Married, has a kid, retired and confirmed to be the strongest Earthling. There's nothing more Kuririn Fan can ask for! It's all perfect!
