I imagine that if you guys adopt BOG/Resurrection'F'/Super that the Krillin Owned Counter would be reset at that point, as it is transitioning into a new series...that is, if the Krillin Owned Counter is kept at all after Boo.

It's going to retire nonetheless since the only two things that happen to Krillin in the Buu saga is getting spat on by Dabura and getting turned into chocolate after trying to stall. Aside from that, the jokes are generally going to come from Mr. Satan. Really if they were going to do one last owned count outside of the Cell saga it would be the spit scene. Super Buu turning everyone to chocolate is more like the Kienzan failure on Cell than funny.

...though I do wonder how they'll play out Mr. Popo in that scene. lol

I agree. Hell there was some completely made up owned counts instead of legitimate ones. I think the joke should be kept to legit manga owns, or anime if you want to get a few more out.

Hilarious how Toriyama can take a generic thug like #17, add boobs and give her a random crush on one of the protagonists, and she becomes one of the more popular characters in the series.

My suggestion wasn't made to demean Eighteen as a prize, but my favorite bittersweet trope is Earn Your Happy Ending. Krillin was bitchslapped through a house and never looked back, Why not retire the Count when he's finally achieved happiness? I don't see it as demeaning Eighteen as a character, she's going to become the mother of his child, how is adding fireworks going to make her a reward, if everything else before it didn't?

I honestly don't mind the KOC, either. It's only obnoxious in Season 1 where Krillin would be made the Butt Monkey for no reason other than TFS felt like it. Popo kicking him off the lookout just for opening his mouth is one example I can think of. Or when his legitimately awesome moments like killing most of the Saibamen are glossed over because...reasons.

Why? Getting someone like 18 and then a family is his dream and the very opposite of him getting owned. And after he gets his dream, can he really get owned like before? That's why it would make sense for the joke to stop at that point. I don't see how that translates into her being a prize... she gets with him because she wants to.

Exactly. Even if the joke was played as described earlier - the owned count being destroyed by an energy blast, akin to the 'Galick Gun' joke we'd already had with Vegeta and Bulma's sex - I wouldn't really view it as 18 being demeaned as Kuririn's 'reward'. It's more so Kuririn finally achieving what he's always wanted out of life, happiness that he gets to share with a partner.

Besides, I see people listing 'legit owned moments' for him in the Boo arc, and...I'm not really seeing it. Dabura's spit? Piccolo gets turned to stone too, so hardly just a Kuririn thing. Getting killed by Super Boo? Kinda happens to everyone else on the Lookout too, and especially considering the way he specifically tries to buy time for everyone to get away even though he knows he's beyond way outclassed? How...How exactly is that an 'owned' moment? On any level?

I mean, I guess I'd be fine with it if it actually were treated as such in the Abridged, because I understand that one joke does not mean that that's the character in a nutshell in reality...but the fact that some are already legitimately seeing that as an 'owned' moment is kinda depressing to say the least.
