I'm pretty sure Goku and Vegeta are gods, they just don't have complete ki control to know it.

I think it wouldn't bother me so much if Beerus hadn't put him into the tournament. He seems to take the whole thing a lot more seriously than almost everyone else present doesn't, yet he brings in a random guy and posses him as Monaka. He could've just had Whis hunt down some other fighter from U7, have Whis train him and basically fulfill the same function without looking like a total jackass.
I wonder if Whis and Vados could have been contestants themselves. Or maybe Beerus and Champa had a gentleman's agreement not to do that.

I like Monaka. He, along with Jaco, provide this sort of blue collar perspective of the Dragon World. I actually found myself enjoying the Copy Vegeta filler arc because of the little scenes of those two just going about their jobs.
