Well if I'm part of a crowd it's not because I'm trying to be.
It's not like I say, "I like the English version but I'm going to pretend I don't just so I can hang out with the people who like the Japanese one."

I genuinely dislike the English one.
If the people who agree with me are a small group compared to the people who disagree with me, then so be it.

That's not what I said. I just said, your no better because you like the japanese version (which you can't understand) and I prefer the dub which does have it's downfalls, but in my opinion many less than the japanese version (plus I understand it).

"We're kind of reconforming to 16:9, which makes it a lot more appealing, fills the image up, and just makes it more impactful. And it's interesting to note that as you watch the 16:9 vs. the 4:3 image it's more cinematic, so you should see A LOT more."

Gets me every time *wipes tear*

For some reason..I get a little tear at the end of episode 13 of DB of the Ocean dub.

I don't know why. Maybe because.. it was the end of the DB Ocean and the music I guess.
Goku: "Look Vegeta! People popcorn!"
Vegeta: "What is he on?"

He's talking about original DB.

I started watching the Z series from when Nappa and Vegeta first show up. And I actually got a little teary-eyed when Piccolo died; not because of Piccolo duying, but because of Piccolo's last words to Gohan, and the way Gohan reacted. That was a very sad and powerful moment.

Uhhh I can understand it just fine with subtitles. And besides, I know enough Japanese to get by most times if no subtitles are available.

I watched episode 184 of Z the other day for the first time in a few years, and the scene leading into the Super Saiyan 2 transformation where Gohan is shocked that Cell finished off No. 16 and the bird is superimposed over the his face really got me going. The insert song really helps the emotion of that scene. It was awesome to experience it like that, much better than the first time when I was just a silly kid with my anime labs cd-rs.

You're going to take me for a lunatic for crying over a filler scene, but I've been re-watching the old DragonBall episodes, and somehow, even though this is at least my third or fourth re-watch of the series, it finally hit me on this occasion.
That last episode of the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai was a real tearjerker for me... and you may be surprised to know that I'm not talking about the "Goku finds Kuririn dead" scene... I'm talking about earlier, when the winner is declared and Goku looks up to see Kuririn standing in the middle of the road smiling at him... and then the spectactor crowd reaches the two competitors, and everyone starts cheering for both of them, and Tenshinhan is astounded. He looks to see Kame Sennin nodding at him and telling him the cheers are indeed for him, and congratulates him on entering the world of good. Then the crowd lifts Ten and Goku up on their shoulders, and the music from the end of DragonBall movie 1 really gets going, and I nearly waterlogged myself from all the tears. Funny how it took me until my fourth viewing for this scene to finally hit home.
And the ironic thing is, the scene in question is actually animated by the substudio I refer to as "Mediocre Guy" - that is, the one that isn't necassarily bad I guess, but nothing to write home about IMO.
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

I haven't really cried when I watch DBZ, but there are a few times when I felt like crying:

Piccolo's first death
Krillin's first death
Goku dying
End of GT

Watch the new season set, I started to get choked up from the deaths of Yamcha, Tanshinhan and Chaouzu. The first time I saw these episodes when they first aired on CN, the impact wasn't as great. But since I have watch the Original Dragonball, i've gotten to know the backstories.

Though I didn't cry, the Grand Elder of Namek's death got to me a little. Especially in the anime where it's really sad.

When vegeta pleaded to goku in episode 86 and when vegeta blew himself up to kill majin buu in episode 222. Such sad moments.

Now that I think about it, the end of DBZ made me cry. It made me cry because that wasn't the way I felt it should've ended. I wasn't satisfied with Goku flying off to train Uub, and then watching how the rest of the tournament went. It just didn't do it for me. :P

Should've ended with Vegetto and Metal Bikini ChiChi. Image

Goku turning SSJ: I don't know why, but the moment gives me goose bumps and makes my blood boil. I tear up a little bit.

Same with Gohan turning SSJ. I don't know why I do this either, but I do know that it's definitely my favorite moment in the entire series and I identify with that form of him the most.

I cried buckets when Murasaki got pole'd and Bulma triggered the PP candy on Oolong. I know, lame, but sad scenes just don't make me cry ever...
