Disagreed. A lot of things like Vegeta & Goku's rivalry, Son Gohan's character development, etc., would've been left behind. Sure Goku dying on Planet Namek would've been a fitting ending, but I would much perfer for the series to continue on. If anything, leaving Goku dead on Planet Namek & letting Gohan take over as the main lead would've been a compromise at best.
That's because we know what was to come. IMO, if it ended with Goku saying something like he did at the end of the Cell games or something, it would be great. But to know the series from way back in DragonBall and to end it with GT is too much (I have a feeling I've said this at least twice in this forum).

Oh! I'm not talking about GT :P Just the Dragon Ball manga in specific.

I was suprised to see Vegeta finnaly admit that 'Kakarott' was number one.
I was also incredibly dissapointed in the actual ending of Z, it had a somewhat anti-climatic feeling.
The tounament is built up, and you think its gonna end with the final battle of Goku and Vegeta.. but no, Goku runs off with this poor kid and trains him... yay?
Well, thats just my personal thoughts.

Exacty. When I was watching it as it happening I thought I was imagining it. I thought the day would never come when I would hear those words come out of his mouth.

Egh no kidding. What about the various breakdowns he has during the Freeza saga, movie 8 and movie 12?

He acted like a total pussy in Movie 8.

After watching those movies I almost broke down and cried. WTH did they do to Vegeta. I traded in both the very next day.

Does Vegeta even ever cry in the series? I know he's had emotional rage moments such as when Future Trunks was killed, as well as tender times like when he bid Trunks farewell before blowing himself up and I swear he came close right before telling "Kakarrot" to throw him the Potara earring to defeat Super Buu. Crying in movies 8 and 12...just so out of character, good thing these are movies I don't try making canon in my PoV of the anime.

Vegeta cried during the Freeza arc while he explained to Goku what Freeza had turned him into.

I think the movies were still out of character, because he was so totally broken, and also, one step away from death, when he did that. Even Freeza begged before he died. But in the movies it wasn't even that close.

Although I like how he totally fell apart when Broli (or whatever it is, Broly, Brolly, Brolli, etc) came since he places so much stock in his legends and he was the living legend.

O.O How could I forget. Well, here he had the perfect excuses, unlike movies 8 and 12. He was dying, pleading to Kakarrot with the last of his strength that Freeza must die "by Saiyan hands", and he realized he had nothing left.

Thinking about Vegeta, another thing in Dragonball I didn't expect was when Goku asked for his help to fight Jheese & Ginyu and he agreed. I really thought he was going too and I remember thinking this is awesome, but then when he flew away I was like, you bastard :x .

I really thought he was going to help.

Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccolo staying on the Earth when it went boom.
Actually, when I was near those episodes, I came across a website with a list of deaths, and I saw an entry there for people that died when the earth blew up... and I thought, "Crap, I'd better stop reading this so I won't see anything about Goten dying and can pretend for a few more days that he doesn't..."

*wanted Gohan to be the only one to not die... oh, and Mr. Satan, but he already got that title*

Eh, I like Vejita (srsly i no rite?) but I didn't feel the movies were too far out. Vejita had his breakdown because the legend he had been raised to believe in all his life was real and in front of him. In movie 12, he was going back to hell...shit, who wouldn't cry over that?

...you know Freeza was probably beating him with an 18 inch black rubber cock down there...and that's the pleasant version :P

Now, GT on the other hand...talk about screwing up Vejita.

I think it's easy to understand why actions involving Vegeta would be a shock; I'm surprised Vegeta crying wasn't mentioned sooner. Freeza Arc and movies 8 and 12 were good examples but what about the end of GT? Technically, Goku left Vegeta as his successor when he left Earth. (Somehow) keeping the strength aspect out of it, of all the people to chose why Vegeta? Why was Uub even created?!

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Wow, possibly the best quote on Daizex, ever.
Yeah, I do think the movies (and ESPECIALLY GT) Screwed poor Vegeta over pretty bad.

Vegeta is the only one Goku could trust to not be a pussy about keeping in shape.
Why was Uub even created?!
I ask myself that every time he's mentioned.

I alweays thought Pan was left as the successor to Goku at the end, her keeping his gi an' all. It'd be kinda stupid to let a 50 + year old be the successor for the earth, but then again, GT is kinda fuckin' stupid.

Well, yeah, in Z, but then GT fucked it all up, and he was too old, and never trained, and barely had any screen time.

I think Pan was the successor, dispite the next time we see her we are horrified by how hideously old and weak looking she is. ><

You guys gotta keep in mind, it was purely the FUNi dub that made it look like Goku was leaving everything to Vegeta ("They're in your hands now"). However, in the Japanese version, it's much more ambigous and seems that Goku is leaving a planet that no longer needs protecting from any evils. He simply says "See you later, Vegeta...See ya' later, everyone!" I guess in a sense, he was leaving the protection of the Earth to them all.
