We just had the ROF arc in Super. If this is what Shida has been working on. it's cool i didn't get my hopes up for his involvement in Super.

If anything they could take this chance to add some stuff that Super didn't do right either, but seems like the news scenes are only about FT Trunks.
This really just seems like a waste.

Fuji TV wants a longer film so that it can fill its timeslot. Toei Animation has to oblige its sponsors, especially when the network owns part of the company.

That's exactly what i was thinking. This is probably a version of Golden Frieza reviving in Future Trunks's timeline. But i doubt that i hope it's something that actually has to do with the plot.

Golden Frieza would be much worse than Black for Trunks and it would be impossible for Trunks to beat G-Frieza with SS2

It has nothing to do with what Super is currently doing unfortunately, it is just Trunks vs Freeza from Trunks perspective.

Well, who knows? Maybe at the end of the movie, they add some scenes showing more of the fight between Trunks and Dabura and Babidi and then Black's arrival. I will be happy if they do that.

the only thing i want to see from trunks is

- fighting dabura and losing

- training with supreme kai and miraculously becoming a ssj2

- fighting dabura again and killing him

- interactions with bulma

- introduction of black and his resemblance to goku

The Trunks Special for Resurrection "F" is not the movie happening in his timeline. It was stated to simply be (a few extra minutes of) Trunks vs. Mecha Freeza, from Trunks' perspective.

Freeza would never be wish back in Trunks timeline. Otherwise Trunks would have mention it when he went back in time again to see Goku and Vegeta.

If so, are we sure that the new animation isn't going to be Goku telling Trunks "the return of Frieza" story?
So basically the same movie but sometimes random narrations either from Goku or Trunks?

The Trunks Special for Resurrection "F" is not the movie happening in his timeline. It was stated to simply be (a few extra minutes of) Trunks vs. Mecha Freeza, from Trunks' perspective.

From the sounds of it, this is pretty disappointing. If I recall correctly Trunks confronts Freeza & King Cold when they land on their spaceship, hence the "couple minutes from Trunks' viewpoint" would only be how he came to the present timeline, and his internal decision to interfere after realizing that Goku isn't around; everything else should stay the same as it was in DBZ.

I'm not going to criticize this harshly as we haven't seen it yet and that wouldn't be wise, but I certainly don't have high hopes for this. It's safe to say the Future Trunks character overall has been resurrected in the last couple months, because many fans believed his story was over with the Cell Arc.

I agree that it'll probably just be a reanimated version of the Trunks vs. Freeza fight, possibly including Trunks' motivations/hesitations regarding stepping in before Goku arrives.

It might not be terribly exciting for us, but keep in mind Super probably has younger viewers who haven't seen the original version of the Trunks fight.
