Most undignified death

Post by RandomGuy96 » Tue Aug 02, 2016 5:33 am

By the end of the series, there's quite a massive body count. Some of these deaths are poignant, some are forgettable, some are awesome... and then we have these.

Who do you think had the most undignified and pathetic end? I'll nominate King Cold. The father of Cooler and Freeza, the emperor of the galaxy, the slaughterer of trillions and the most dangerous mortal in the universe... taken out in one shot by Trunks, after rejecting all three of Trunks' offers to leave unharmed, all because he thought that Trunks' power came from his sword. For no reason at all, it should be noted. He also assumed that Trunks would hand over the source of all his power just because Cold asked nicely, and would continue to act smug and threatening towards Cold even after handing him over all his power. Seriously, what was the sword gonna do, you stupid asshole?

The anime adding a scene where he barley survives the first shot and then tries to beg Trunks to give him a fourth chance arguably added to the humiliation, but I'm more fond of the manga version, where he just straight-up dies a second after Trunks catches his blow, and that's it for him.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Piccolo in the Super Resrrection F arc. Poor attempt at a throwback to his death in the Saiyan saga.

I'm going with Chaozu in Piccolo Daimao arc. I mean, Piccolo summons Shenlong, Tenshinhan telephatically tells Chaozu to antecipate his wish, Chaozu jumps out in to the open and Piccolo kills him with a simple blast before he says a word.... just pointless.

Yamcha's death against the Saibaman would be too easy so I'll go with Cell cause he went back to earth just to get killed even though he knew he didn't stand a chance against Gohan.

I agree with this one. Probably the worst death scene in all of DB. Didn't have significance, and it just looked plain awkward. It makes me cringe lol.

I have to agree with King Cold, although I think the anime version is better because of the music. It was probably the most pathetic death for any character. The way that Trunks just ignored him as he begged for mercy was chilling. And this was the guy that was supposed to be Freeza's father.

A more lowkey death would have to be Piano. If my memory serves me right, didn't Piccolo squish him without realizing? What a way to go lol.

Don't try starting a debate, please.

Anyways Dodoria, Zarbon, and Freeza's deaths since it showed them to be cowardly bullies.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Vegeta in Resurrection F.

Spends the first part of the fight, when Goku was doing the real work, too scared to fight Freeza (when Goku asks if Vegeta wants in, he gets all nervous and pushes it off on Goku. So much for getting revenge  )

Then, when he finally does take on Freeza, it's after the latter was already exhausted and unable to put up a fight. Vegeta beats up on a tired, weak enemy for a few minutes, and then what happens?

Freeza goes "fuck it!" and blows him up.

Like, the only one I can think of that comes close to this is him letting Cell achieve his perfect form, and then getting one-shotted by the bug.

Ginyu. I can't decide which one is worse his or Piccolo's in the F arc.

He was a main villain in Trunks' timeline so in a way he made up for it.

This would be mine too. Can't get any more undignified then that.

Bacterian gets electrocuted in an alley way by Tambourine; his naturally putrid body now a smoking corpse, lying in a trash heap. There's no way that didn't smell absolutely horrific.

Piano. The guy doesn't do anything useful, Piccolo barely listens to him and he dies but having his master fall onto him, as if he was an afterthought. He was the longest living spawn of Daimao (except our Piccolo), but still, he died like he lived: nobody caring about him.

Hey, now that's not true! I like the little guy. :) I'll have to agree that his death was nothing dramatic. Piccolo Daimao hardly even acknowledges a part of himself died in the inside once he gets up. It's actually surprising he wasn't more resilient. It would be nice if he was Piccolo Jr.'s Crane Hermit mentor since he's not a fighter, but a schemer.
